Oh What Fun! {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am up on the Avery Elle blog today with a fun card featuring the Snow Much Fun stamp set, Snow Much Fun Elle-ments dies and the Snow Caps Elle-ments dies.

How do cute critters have Snow Much Fun?  They have a big snowball fight, of course!!! To create this scene, I cut a piece of teal/green polka dot patterned paper from my stash to use as the background.  The patterned paper was trimmed to a bit smaller than an A2 card front so that a nice border would show.  Next I die cut the trees and snow drifts using the Snow Caps Elle-ments dies.

I stamped and die cut the critters from the Snow Much Fun stamp set using the coordinating Elle-ments dies and colored them in with Copic Markers.  I stamped the sentiment on one of the snow drifts and started adhering the die cut pieces to the patterned paper.  To give the card a bit of dimension, the front snow drift was adhered to the panel using foam tape.  Once the scenery and animals were in place, I glued a few white mini pom-poms to the scene.  I thought they could serve as snowballs!  The completed panel was finally attached to a notecard from the Sugar Collection.

I would love for you to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle team.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Pretty Presents {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am over on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today with some inspiration for festive gift wrap.  Since my Holiday shopping is not finished (or started for that matter!), I decided to get my present wrapping fix using the Little Gifts stamp set.

I stamped some of the Little Gifts onto card stock and trimmed them out with scissors. I wrapped a couple of the gifts with embroidery floss, card stock and topped them with the Tiny Twine Bow die
I stamped the sentiment and candy cane from the Stocking stamp set onto the panel.

As a finishing touch, I added a thin strip of washi tape and a couple of die cuts using the Tiny Star Die and the scissors which are included in the Mini Trifold Notes Die set.

I would love for you to stop by the Waffle Flower blog today to check out the inspiration for my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CASEing Kelly Blog Hop!

Good morning friends,

Today I am honored to be a part of a blog hop celebrating the one year anniversary of Kelly Latevola's CASEing Genius series.  I am actually lucky enough to know Kelly in "real life" as she loves winter too and lives in beautiful Northeast Ohio.  (Kidding about the loves winter part, obvi..) In case you were wondering, she is just as funny, engaging, and authentic in person as she is on her blog.  Plus the girl is legit crazy talented.

Anyway, for reasons still unknown, Kelly decided to feature me on CASEing Genius last November, so today, I along with the other CASEing targets over the past year say thanks by turning the tables and CASEing the lovely and talented Kelly!   You should have arrived here from Kathy Wade's blog. If not, the entire hop order is listed at the end of this post.

So I have been stalking Kelly's blog of late to pick out three awesome cards to use as a starting point for my card.

First up is this snowy scene that Kelly designed using the new WPlus9 release.  I LOVE the polar bear and can you believe that this amazing card started life as just a humble piece of card stock?  She added ink in one form or another and voila! That Kelly is MAGIC!

Second, I thought this card that Kelly designed for Marker Pop using the Lawn Fawn Boo-yah stamp set is too cute.  I love the layout and the bright green that Kelly features in lots of her cards.

Another Marker Pop/Lawn Fawn creation for the third card- this one features alpacas and aqua.  I loved the scalloped edge on the inside of the circle.  It's such a fun take on a classic combination.

My card

I combined elements from all three cards to create the card below.  From the first card, I decided to feature a Polar Bear.  This cutie is from Avery Elle's Polar Pals stamp set.  I worked in some bright green from the second card using Avery Elle's Christmas Florals stamp set.  Last, the layout was and background color was inspired by the third card.  I didn't have any dies that put the scalloped edge on the inside of the circle, so my scallops are on the outside.  Oh and my circle is an oval.  Die set is also from Avery Elle- it's called Sweet Scallops

To make the card, I die cut the oval from the Sweet Scallops die set from aqua card stock and glued the oval frame to the outer edge of the oval. I kept the oval negative and stamped a frame using the Christmas Florals stamp set.  Kelly has an eye for details, so I tried to mimic that by adding the tiny berries and die cut stars.  Finally, I stamped and die cut the polar bear and adhered him to the center of the oval. I attached the aqua frame to a card base using foam tape and dropped the oval into the opening securing it to the card base with some adhesive.

Happy Mail {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends!

I am just popping in today to share a card I made with one of Waffle Flower Crafts newest stamps sets, Happy Mail.  I just love this sweet stamp set because let's face it, we could all use some happy mail!

For this simple and cheerful card, I stamped the envelopes in bright jewel tones, trimmed them out and adhered them to a panel of white card stock.

I stamped the winky smile on the coral envelope and added the sentiment and hearts with black ink and the completed panel was adhered to a yellow card base.

This card came together so quickly and easily that it would be a cinch to whip up a few and send some Happy Mail to your friends and loved ones any time!

You Warm My Heart {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am up on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made using the adorable Polar Pals stamp set and Polar Pals Elle-ments dies

I tried a new technique with this background- salted watercolors! I started with a panel of Distress Watercolor paper and used Distress Ink to paint a watercolor background.  The ink colors I used were Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon.   While the watercolor was still wet, I sprinkled the panel with salt.  When the paint dried, I brushed off the salt.  I love how the salt crystals created a snow-like swirl against the blues.

I stamped and die cut the cute Polar Bears, adhered them to the panel.  I stamped the sentiment and added a little enamel heart as a finishing touch.  I attached the finished panel to a Fog card base from the Midnight note card collection

Well, that's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Design Team.

Fang-tastic Monster Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friend,

Happy Friday!  I am over on the Avery Elle blog today with a simple card featuring the Monsters stamp set.   This set was illustrated by Heather Campbell and featured the cutest monsters around.  I love that Heather included sentiments that work for a variety of occasions- birthday, encouragement, and of course, Halloween!

I did a little simple masking with the monsters in the bottom right corner of the card and stamped the winged monster flying above them in the opposite corner.  Next, I colored the monsters using Copic markers adding a bit of shading with a cool gray Copic to "ground" the green and orange monsters.

I stamped the sentiment in black and adhered a few black enamel dots just for fun.  The completed panel was adhered to a notecard from the Citrus Collection A2 Notecard set.

Well, that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Design Team!

Gummy Bear Birthday Card {Avery Elle}

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday!  I am up on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made using the Pick N Mix stamp set.  Pick N Mix was designed by my teamie, Caryn Davies and features so many sweet candies and images, you just might walk away with a toothache!

For my card, I stamped the gummy bear image in black ink, colored the bears with Copic markers, and added a bit of gloss with clear embossing powder.  To do this, I colored the bears with a VersaMark marker, added the embossing powder, dusted off the extra and melted the clear powder with my heat gun.  I stamped the sentiment on the panel and adhered it to a card base that I covered with patterned paper from The Brights Collection.

My older daughter, Paige, is a bit of a gummy bear addict. Her passion for these fruity bears is somewhat restricted now due to orthodontic work.  She declared that this is her favorite card and stamp set yet!  All the sweetness of candy and none of the cavities!

Well that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle team!

A Wreath that Pops {Avery Elle}

Hi friends!

Happy Friday!  I am up on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Pop Up Wreath Elle-ments die.

I die cut the wreath onto white card stock and stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Florals stamp set.  I folded up the leaves and outlined the edges in Stickles.  After waiting for the stickles to dry, I added a few enamel dots and the bow (included in the set) was die cut onto pink card stock and adhered to the top of the wreath.  I attached the completed panel onto a note card from the Caribbean Collection

Well that's it for me today. Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from my talent teamies.

Throwback Thursday- Seasonal Sentiments {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

It's been a while since I had an opportunity to participate in Avery Elle's Throwback Thursday feature, but when Jamie announced that we would be showcasing Seasonal Sentiments, I knew I had to find time to play along.

The Seasonal Sentiments stamp set features images and sentiments for FIVE Autumn/Winter holidays.  With one set, you are covered from Halloween through the New Year.

I just love this little Thanksgiving acorn image, so I paired him up with the Christmas Florals stamp set and Sweet Scallops Elle-ments die to create this autumn card.

Staring with a note card from the Citrus Collection, I die cute the scalloped oval and the pierced oval from card stock, stamped the acorn and adhered the ovals to the card.  Next, I stamped some of the foliage and flowers from the Christmas Florals stamp set, die cut them with the coordinating Elle-ments dies and arranged them around the bottom of the acorn.  I love that the Christmas florals take on an autumn hue using Avery Elle's pigment ink in Papaya, Mustard Seed, Jungle and Truffle.

Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration using this amazing set and for a chance to win a Seasonal Sentiments stamp set all of your own!
