Thanks Thanks {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Popping in today to share a colorful Thank You card featuring Avery Elle's new Thanks Thanks clear stamps.

I wanted to incorporate a lot of the great sentiments included in the Thanks Thanks set, so I paired colored card stock with heat embossing to make a simple and graphic card.

I stamped each of the sentiments with Versamark on colored card stock, and I heat embossed each sentiment with the Rose Gold Embossing Powder. I trimmed each piece of card stock into strips and lined up the strips to create the striped design. This design is also great for using up those strips of card stock that we all save and just can't bear to toss. :)

Classroom Valentine Bookmarks {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog this week with a little project featuring the Party Tag Elle-ment dies. The Party Tags are wonderfully versatile. I adore the size and fun fishtail design of these tags. With Valentine's Day coming up, I thought the tags were perfectly suited for creating bookmarks for a classroom Valentine exchange or to give the special readers in your life.

I die cut the largest tag from water color card stock and a second layer from pale pink card stock. Onto the water color tag, I created a cloudy background using a DIY cloud stencil and Distress Ink. I stamped the images from the Cupids stamp set onto white card stock and colored the images with Copic markers. I adhered the images to the tag.

I stamped the sentiments onto white card stock with clear Embossing ink and heat embossed the sentiments with Avery Elle's Rose Gold fine detail embossing powder. Finally I attached all the tags together using Raspberry Hemp Twine.

Hello friends!

I am very excited to be participating in a blog hop today in honor of Avery Elle's Winter 2019 Release!

I have a card to share featuring the new Hooray Clear Stamps. I love the size and the font used in this set! It really makes a bold impact!

I stamped a confetti background on a panel of white card stock using all the little bits and accents included in the Hooray stamp set. Next I stamped the "hooray" sentiment three times using black Versafine ink. I heat embossed the sentiment using Clear Embossing powder.

To add a little more detail, I die cut the dotted circle that can be found in the Dotted Borders Elle-ments die set and adhered a few flat disc sequins. I trimmed the edged of the white card stock panel just slightly and attached it to a teal A2 size note card.

Polar Playtime {Avery Elle}

Hello!

I am on the Avery Elle blog this week with a card featuring the cute Arctic friends from the Polar Playtime stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments dies.

I paired the Polar animals with the Grand Photo Mat die to create a little wintery scene. I stamped the animals onto white card stock, colored the images with Copic Markers and die cut the images using the coordinating Polar Playtime Elle-ments dies.

Next, I die cut the Drand Photo Mat Elle-ments die from white card stock. I die cut the snow drift portion of the die from glitter card stock. To add some detail to the photo frame, I stamped the little bonus images on the mat using Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I blended a panel of watercolor card stock with two shades of Distress Ink (Lucky Clover and Peacock Feathers), spattered the panel with white ink, and positioned it behind the photo mat.  I love how the spatters look like stars in a sky illuminated by the Northern Lights. I added the glittery snow drifts and attached the animals to the panel with foam tape. Finally I curved one of the sentiments from the Snow Fun stamp set and stamped it onto the dotted banner. I adhered the completed panel to an A2 note card.

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hello friends,

I am excited to be participating in Tracey McNeeley's annual 25 days of Christmas Tags today. Avery Elle is one of the event sponsors, so I am delighted to share a little Avery Elle tag inspiration with you!

My tags feature some of the cuties from the Snow Fun and Polar Playtime stamp sets.  This particular penguin and snow person happened to be leftover from a card-making session. They were too cute to discard. I am glad I held onto they because they found new life on these tags!

To make the tags, I cut the tag layers from the Shaker Tag Elle-ments die and I blended the base layer with some Distress Ink and stamped a few small snowflakes on the background. I was careful to leave the bottom third of the background white so that the the images would be grounded in snow.

I adhered the top frames to the tags followed by the stamped images. The "oh joy" die cut is from the Scalloped Mat Elle-ments die. I added some hemp twine and these tags are ready to go!

Please check out Tracey's blog for more tag inspiration from Avery Elle and the other event sponsors!

Cocoa Stand {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the darling Cocoa Stand clear stamps. This set is so cute and perfect for the holiday season. I love that it comes with an adorable bear or you can mix and match this set with the other critters in the Peek-A-Boo sets!

 I stamped and colored the images using Copic markers. Since I was using a lot of images to create my tree farm scene, I used the same red and green blending trio throughout the stamped elements to create some visual consistency.  Next I die cut the stamped images using the coordinating Cocoa Stand Elle-ments dies.

The background of the card was created by layering die cuts using the Classic Flags Elle-ments die set along with the Snow Scene Elle-ments die. I arranged all the images onto the background and adhered them using a tape runner. I attached the completed panel to an A2 notecard that I covered with a piece of red diagonal patterned paper from the Holiday Collection Paper Pad.

Cloche Shaker Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Cloche stamp set. I love cloche jars for creating vignettes and highlighting special objects, and you can do the same thing with stamped images using the Cloche clear stamps.

I used the Cloche stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments die and created a shaker jar. Before sealing the shaker element, I blended some blue ink on the back panel and added a few pinches of coarse glitter.  I stamped the flowers from the Cloche stamp set along with one of the snowmen and bird from the Snow Fun stamp set. I colored the images with Copic markers, added them to the jar and tied a bow with Cherry Hemp Twine as a finishing touch.

I trimmed the blue snowfall paper from The Holiday Collection paper pack and adhered it to a navy A2 card base. I adhered the scalloped frame from the Holiday Ephemera pack and attached the cloche image to the card. Finally I added one of the sentiment banners from the ephemera pack to the cloche jar.

Fall Foliage Card + Favorite Copics for Fall {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Just popping in today with a card to share with you featuring Avery Elle's gorgeous Fall Foliage stamp set. I love fall and all the colors that burst forth from the trees. It's also an opportunity to use some Copic Marker color combinations that evoke the hues and shades of fall. With that in mind, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Copic colors for Fall.

To create my card, I stamped the images from the Fall Foliage stamp set with Versamark ink and heat embossed the images with gold embossing powder. Next I colored the images using the Copic markers noted in the image above.  I die cut the images and arranged them in a wreath around the opening of the Quilted Frame Elle-ments die.

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto an A2 notecard. I adhered the quilted frame die and images to the notecard with foam tape and adhered a few clear droplets as a finishing touch.

That's all for me today. I hope that these color combinations are helpful as you capture the colors of Fall on your cards.

Holiday Skates {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the festive Holiday Skates clear stamps. Ice skates are such a beautiful icon of the winter season, and I love all the thoughtful extra images included in this set to make the skates extra special.

To create the card, first I die cut the Let it Snow Elle-ments die from a piece of iridescent glitter card stock. I love glitter card stock because it lets me have all the sparkle with none of the mess.  I die cut the inner dome from water color card stock and added some Distress Oxide inks in Tattered Rose and Scattered Straw.  I also stamped the snowflakes from the Holiday Skates stamp set in Tattered Rose ink before adding the sentiment in black ink.

I stamped, colored and die cut the skates and accent images and arranged them onto the water color panel. Once I was happy with the placement, I secured the pieces to a notecard using tape runner and Avery Elle's liquid adhesive. The liquid glue has the precision of a pen making it perfect for adding the right amount of adhesive to small die cuts.

Thanks for skating by today!

Peek-a-Boo Pals: Spooktacular {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Happy Monday! I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the adorable Peek-a-Boo Pals Spooktacular stamp set. It's almost fall, and it's time to start thinking about cards and paper crafting for the upcoming fall holidays, including one of my favorites, Halloween!

I blended a panel of water color card stock with Distress Oxide ink in Spiced Marmalade and stamped the sentiment with Onyx Black Versafine ink. Next, I stamped, colored and die cut the Peek-a-Boo Pals. I wanted to tuck the pals behind something spooky, so I used the new Snow Scene Elle-ments die as a cauldron, complete with bubbles and creepy googley eyes!

I trimmed the bottom edge of the Snow Scene cauldron and framed the blended panel with the Wonky Scalloped Frames Elle-ments die. I tucked the Spooktacular Pals behind the cauldron and glued their hands to the edge. As a finishing touch, I added the stamped and die cut stars.  Do you think the Snow Scene Elle-ments die works as a boiling cauldron? It's fun to find "outside the box" uses for crafty supplies.

Avery Elle Fall 2019 Blog Hop!

Hello friends!

Today we're celebrating Avery Elle's Fall 2019 Release with a Blog Hop to share some inspiration using the newest products.  You should have arrived from Melania Deasy's blog.

I have three cards to share with you today featuring the Simply Said- Bright stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments dies.

For my first card, I paired Simply Said-Bright with the penguins from Polar Playtime. I stamped the penguins and colored them with Copic markers. I also stamped "Bright" onto white card stock with Versafine Black Onyx ink and heat embossed it with Avery Elle's clear embossing powder.

I adhered the stamped and die-cut images to a panel of white card stock that I had die-cut with the Classic Flags Elle-ments die. I used one of the pieces of ephemera from Avery Elle's Holiday Ephemera pack as a background for the stamped images. I stamped "making spirits" onto the Ephemera background. I love that it tucks perfectly above "Bright."

I adhered the scalloped die-cut to an A2 card that I covered with a piece of patterned paper from the Holiday Collection paper pad. As a finishing touch, I tied a simple bow using black and white Hemp twine.

For my next card, I paired Simply Said-Bright with the Snow Fun stamp set. For a different look, I heat embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder.

I built the snowy scene using ephemera from Avery Elle's Holiday Ephemera pack and Holiday Paper Pad and adhered all the images and die cuts to an A2 note card.

For my last card, I wanted to show how the Simply Said- Bright set can be used beyond the upcoming holiday season.  It stands up so well on its own as a focal point and includes sentiments that are perfect for a graduation card and lots of other occasions.

I stamped Bright with Versafine Black Onyx ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I die cut the word and the accompanying shadow image and blended the shadow image with Distress Oxide ink. I layered the die cuts and adhered it to the Star Scene Elle-ments die and the Burst Elle-ments die before adhering everything to a 4.25" square notecard.

To celebrate the Fall 2019, Avery Elle is giving away a stamp set of choice to three lucky winners. Swell Birthday Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Swell stamp set.  The Swell stamp set set works so well on it's own or as a watery background with other images. Here I paired it with the CelebRAYtion stamp set to create a birthday card.

I stamped the Swell image with Veramark ink onto a panel of water color card stock and heat embossed it with Avery Elle's Rose Gold embossing powder. I used a blending brush to add Distress Oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold and Tattered Rose around the edges of the card.  I stamped the sentiment from the Swell stamp sent in the center of the background image and heat embossed it with Rose Gold embossing powder.

I stamped the rays, sea grass, party hats, and cupcake images onto white card stock and colored them with Copic markers. I die cut the images with the CelebRAYtion coordinating Elle-ments dies.  I arranged the images onto the blended panel and adhered them with Avery Elle's liquid adhesive.  I attached the finished panel onto an A2 notecard.

For the Record + Video {Avery Elle}

Hello!

I am up on the Avery Elle blog and You Tube channel this week with a video sharing how I made a quick and colorful card featuring the For the Record stamp set and the Plus Frame Elle-ments die.

I used some simple techniques like heat embossing and ink blending to add color and texture to the record image.  For the sentiment, I die cut and off-set stacked the sentiment to create a colorful marquee.

Avery Elle's liquid glue adhesive was perfect for securing all the layers together.  I love how the swoosh in "Record" looks like a record player arm!

I hope you'll check out Avery Elle's You Tube Channel to take a peek at how it all came together!

Two A-llama Birthday Fun! {Avery Elle}

Hi everyone,

Katie here with a card to share with you featuring the super fun Peek-A-Boo Car Clear Stamps.  Our Peek-A-Boo friends are all grown up and driving, but they're aren't the only furry pals who are itching to get behind the wheel...

The flashing alarm, or should I say a-llama, light that you can add to the top of the car inspired me to pull out a set released earlier this year, and I put a couple of the Llamas from the Llamazing clear stamp set behind the wheel for a little birthday fun! I stamped, colored and die cut the car, alarm, cactus, gift and llama images. I placed the llamas in the car window and trimmed off any excess of the stamped images.

I positioned the car and the other images on a panel blended with Distress Oxide inks and anchored it with some die cuts from the Cityscape Elle-ments die (which is on SALE now) and the Dotted Frames Elle-ments set. I stamped the sentiment from the Llamazing stamp set onto black card stock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. The Reverse Pinked Rectangles Elle-ments die (also on SALE) frames the images and die cuts and some clear sequins add a sparkly finishing touch.

Peek-A-Boo Summer Pals

Hi friends!

It's Peek-A-Boo Summer Pals week on the Avery Elle Blog, and I am so excited to share a card I made using this cute stamp set.

I used the Sea Scene Elle-Ments die to create a little background for a Peek-A-Boo Summer Pal pool party.  The Summer Scene die is perfect for tucking the Pals into the waves.

I stamped, colored, and die cut the images  before adhering them onto the Sea Scene die cut.  I stamped the sentiment and speech bubble with black ink and added a yellow sun to the corner of the water scene. I die cut a yellow circle with the edge of the Sea Scene die to nest the two shapes together.

I hope this sunshiny card brightens your day!

Modern Floral Frame {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Katie here with a card to share with you featuring Avery Elle's gorgeous Modern Floral Frame stamp set. This beautiful set covers so many occasions from birthdays to babies, weddings to retirement.  It's also the perfect combination of soft florals paired with the graphic straight lines of the geometric frame.

I thought I would introduce a little softness to the frame by stamping and heat embossing the image onto vellum.  To hide the adhesive, I stamped the floral cluster onto watercolor paper. I watercolored the the florals using Avery Elle's Liquid watercolors and adhered the watercolor flowers onto the vellum.

Along with a sentiment strip that I die cut using the Classic Flags Elle-ment dies, this gave me two places to hide the adhesive and secure the vellum frame to the card.

I attached the frame to an A2 note card framed with the Dotted Frame Elle-ments die, and I glued a few clear droplets to the card as a finishing touch.

Legendary Birthday {Avery Elle}

Hi friends,

Katie popping in today to share a card featuring Avery Elle's Legendary clear stamp set. It's well established that the Kraken loves to party and a birthday card featuring festive wishes from a Kraken would be, well, Legendary. This set is also perfect for making clever cards for the dudes in your world. Be they little squids or bigger than pirate ships. This card will be winging its way to my brother in a couple weeks in honor of his birthday. (No worries, I am 100% sure that he does not read my blog.)

 I stamped the Kraken, ship and cake onto a panel of white card stock and colored the images with Copic markers. After the Kraken was colored, I used a white gel pen to color the suction pods white. This is much easier than trying to keep these spots color-free when coloring and blending with markers.

I adhered the Legendary images to a panel of watercolor card stock that I had stamped with the background image from the Swell stamp set using Versafine Black Onyx ink and heat embossed with Avery Elle's clear embossing powder. I used Distress Oxide ink in, what else, Salty Ocean to add some color to the water focusing on the outer edge of the card. I stamped the sentiment and adhered the completed panel to an A2 notecard.

Supplies

That's it for me today. I hope you are having a Legendary day!
