DIY Hoop Frame {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

Recently, I took a little field trip to IKEA and while browsing the marketplace, these cork trivets- aptly called HEAT- found their way into my smooth gliding cart.

Once home, I wanted to see what I could do to free these cork circles from eternal KP into something a little more.  I combined a trivet with some Waffle Flower Crafts stamps and dies to create a patriotic hoop frame.

I found a favorite picture of my girls from a few years ago (love those matching dresses) and raided my stash for some paper crafting supplies.  A 7" embroidery hoop fits perfectly a top the cork trivet.

I covered the hoop with the yellow polka dot patterned paper and added the photo- holding it in place with a clip. Next I stamped the the sentiment from the In Every Way stamp set and die cut Perfect Word die and adhered it to the project.

I die cut the Rosette Hearts Template Die from patterned paper and attached them to the frame.  I also added a couple small banners from the Rosette Hearts die to the photo.  Finally, I added some craft glue to the embroidery hoop and attached it to the trivet.

Well that's all for me today.  Thanks for stopping by!

Balloon Giraffe Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

Happy Friday!!  I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made using the new Balloon Giraffes stamp set and coordinating dies.

I stamped a background onto a piece of white cardstock die cut with the Double Pierced Rectangle Elle-ments die using the three small circle included in the set.  I stamped and die cut the balloon giraffe and covered it with glossy accents before adhering it to the card with foam adhesive.

The sentiment was heat embossed on black cardstock and adhered to the stamped panel.  I attached the panel to a Raspberry note card and added a few enamel dots for a little extra shine and interest.

That's all for me today, but be sure to check out the Avery Elle blog for more inspiration from the design team!  Thanks for stopping by!

My card today uses the new Pierced Circle Elle-ments dies along with an older Avery Elle stamp set, Oh Happy Day

When, I first saw, these Pierced Circle dies, I immediately thought of an archery target and that was my springboard for my card. I felt like I needed to get this card out of my system before I snip apart these dies for other uses! :)

First, I die cut the pierced circle dies onto a panel of white card stock.   Next, I embossed the sentiment from the Oh Happy Day stamp set with gold embossing powder.

The glitter vellum arrow is from Crate Paper's Journey collection, and I added a few enamel dots and some pretty gold stripe washi to the panel to keep it from looking too plain.  Finally, I adhered the completed panel to a kraft note card from the Natural Collection A2 folded cards

Your next stop on the hop, is the lovely and talented AJ Otto.  Below is a list of all the designers participating in the hop:

Teacher Appreciation Album {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today sharing a Teacher Appreciation Album I made using the Little Minds stamp set, coordinating dies, and Jewel Collection paper pad

As the end of the school year approached, our First Grade Room Mom sent a note to all the parents soliciting ideas for something by with our teacher would remember her very first 1st grade class.

I volunteered to make a small instagram-sized album. I personalized the spine with the pencil and thank you sentiment from the Little Minds stamp set. With help from my daughter, I sent home with each child a piece of white card stock with a question for the students to answer about their teacher.

Some of the questions included:

What do you think (your teacher) will do over the summer?
What is your favorite memory of (your teacher's) class?
What is (your teacher's) favorite saying?
What color reminds you of (your teacher)?
What animal reminds you of (your teacher)?
Why do you think (your teacher) became a teacher?
What do you think is the easiest part of (your teacher's) job?
What do you think is the hardest part of (your teacher's) job?
Where would you send (your teacher) on vacation?

I went into the class to take photos of the students under of guise of a craft project for the end of the school year party.  I paired up a photo of each child with his or her response.  I also sent home extra card stock for the parents or students to write thank you notes or draw pictures which I also included in the album.

I used Little Minds stamps and dies along with the Jewel Collection paper pad to decorate pages within the album.  The children's responses and parent's notes were so sweet that I believe the album was very well received and will be cherished for a long while.

Well, that's all for me today! Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog today and every day for even more inspiration from Jamie and the Design Team!

Never trust tequila {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

TGIF!  I am over on the Avery Elle blog with a fun card using the Happy Hour stamp set and Margarita Shaker Elle-ments die

The sentiments that Jamie included in the Happy Hour set just crack me up!  I made the margarita glass from Daisy card stock with I daubed with versamark and covered with clear embossing power.

I filled the shaker pocket with tiny seed beads before sealing it up and adding a ring of sugar or salt with Stickles.  The patterned paper background is from the Brights Collection and the Jewel Collection paper pads. The completed shaker panel was attached to a Sapphire note card from the Caribbean Collection

Well that's all for me today!  Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more ideas and inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!

Love and Happiness {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

It's June and love is in the air!  I am over at the Waffle Flower blog today with all sorts of crafty inspiration for wedding celebrations including the card you see below.

The card is a CASE of a card I created earlier for the Waffle Flower spring release.  Only this time, instead of an engagement card, I used gold card stock and included a second band suitable for the nuptials.

I used the Flower Circle dies to create the rings.  Since I had separated the dies many months ago, a bit of washi held the dies in place.

I die cut the 3D Diamond Template Die from glitter card stock to create the bling.  Since the glitter was rather impermeable to die-cutting, I die cut the diamond on the back of glitter card stock.

The sentiment is from the Doily Square stamp set stamped in black ink on a lavender note card.

Be sure to stop by the Waffle Flower blog for even more inspiration that you are sure to love!

Thanks for stopping by!

Clique Kits + Friends Blog Hop

Good morning friends and happy Friday!

Today, I, along with other members of the Waffle Flower Crafts design team and friends are participating in the Clique Kits + Friends June Blog Hop.  Using the June Clique Kit along with some Waffle Flower stamps and dies, I created a scrapbook layout (!) and a card to share with you today.

First up, a scrapbook layout featuring some pictures I took of Sophie when we were exploring the trails at a local park. Many of the papers and embellishments included in the June kit are from Crate Paper's Journey collection and it pairs perfectly with many Waffle Flower stamp sets and dies.

Along with the June Clique Kit, my layout features The Doily Square die, the Feather More stamp set and the Pattern Play stamp set

Next up, a card featuring the Tribal Thank You stamp set. I die cut a circle using the Flower Circles die set and stamped the bear and border using Waffle Flower Summer Chalk Ink in shades 9 and 16.

I stamped the sentiment on a die cut and added a few puffy stickers as accent.

Here's a look at the June Clique Kit.  I was so impressed with the amount of product included in the kit.  They are really quite generous and many, many cards and layouts can be made from the contents of a single kit.

Here's a list of the designers participating in today's hop:

Well that's all for me today!  Happy hopping and thanks for stopping by!

Avery Elle Summer Release Blog Hop!

Good morning friends,

Today is the big day of the Avery Elle Summer 2014 release.  The Avery Elle Design Team is celebrating with a Blog Hop featuring our newest products.

My card uses the Simply Said: Amazing stamp set and Simply Said Amazing Elle-ment die along with the Burst Elle-ment dies. Along with some Avery Elle pigment inks, I created a fun shaker card.

I die cut the Burst die on cream card stock and added the color by sponging on Avery Elle pigment inks.  Now for the math- there are 90 sections, so to keep things simple, I worked in groups of 5. 90 divided by 5 is 18, so I decided to use 6 ink shades 3 times.  My first iteration of the card had the ink colors right next to each other,  but I decided that it looked better if I skipped a section between ink colors. The ink colors are Mimosa, Pixie, Sea Glass, Conch Shell, Raspberry and Celery

I covered the opening with acetate and adhered the Amazing word die cut to the acetate.  I added sequins and stamped "you are" from the Simply Said Amazing stamp set onto cream card stock before sealing up the shaker.  I adhered the shaker to a 4.25" note card.
