Ornament Christmas Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Ornamental Elle-ments die. All of the Avery Elle supplies used for this card are linked below.

These Ornamental dies are just beautiful- lovely details without being too fussy.  I die cut them from red card stock and punched out the leaves and dots to allow the white card stock to show through.  I suspended the ornaments with a bit of silver twine and stamped the sentiment included in the Christmas Packages stamp set.

I mounted the panel to a green note card. As a finishing touch, I added a frame from the Postage Stamp Elle-ments popped up with foam dots.

Happy Holiday Home Gift Box {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a little project featuring the Happy Home Elle-ment dies and the Hanging Banner stamps and dies.  All of my Avery Elle supplies are lined below.

While these stamps and dies are amazing for cards, I used them to transform a humble take out container into a darling gift box- ready for all your holiday gift giving occasions!

I die cut all the house pieces and parts from card stock and adhered them to the take out container.  Some simple measuring with just the box as a template helped ensure that the pieces were the right size.  When I trimmed the roof to fit, I was able to discard the bottom scallop allowing a cute scalloped edge to take center stage.

Once everything was in place, I added a couple details like the bows and some stickers and rhinestones as the finishing touch.  Now the box is all set to hold a small gift or even a baked goods!

Avery Elle Fall 2016 Blog Hop!

Hello friends,

I am so excited join my teammates on the Avery Elle Design Team and share with you some of my first projects that I made with the Avery Elle Fall 2016 release.  The entire release is up and available now in the Avery Elle shop!  Avery Elle is celebrating the release with a great hop featuring loads of inspiration and prizes- more details on that below.

First, a card using the Large Pinecone Elle-ments die.  If you were a fan of last year's Pop Up Wreath, you are going to love this die.  The Pinecone Elle-ments dies makes effortless and elegant holiday cards.

For my card, I die cut a panel of rustic cream card stock and adhered it to a green notecard.  For the sentiment, I die cut "peace" from the Peace Love Joy Elle-ments dies from gold card stock.

Supplies:

A slightly smaller version of the Pinecone image was also brought to life in the Pinecones Clear stamp set.  For this next card, I stamped the image onto watercolor paper with black Versafine ink and added water color using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

I painted one section at a time allowing time for the watercolor to dry before moving to the next color or section.  Once the image was colored, I went around the image with a wash of light blue watercolor and some spray mist.  I die cut the panel with the Wonky Stitches die before adhering the panel to a Raspberry note card.

Supplies:

My last card for today uses a super cute set illustrated by Heather Campbell, Happy Howl-idays.

I combined Happy Howl-idays with a few other dies including the new Falling Snow die and the Dotted Borders Elle-ments die to create a little scene for this sweet pup.

I also used the new Postage Stamps Ellements die to create a frame for the snowy scene.  I trimmed the note card from standard A2 dimensions to 4" x 5.25" to accommodate the frame.

Birthday Fishes Card {WFC Challenge}

Hello friends,

It's time for the August Waffle Flower Challenge.  This month, we are inspired by this fabulous room:

I definitely picked up on a nautical vibe, but traveled deep below the sea to create my little scene using the Birthday Fishes Stamp Set and Birthday Fishes Dies.

I sponged some Distress Ink in Salty Ocean on a panel of watercolor card stock.  I spritzed the panel with water and with white spray ink (White Linen Dylusions) to achieve the feel of sparkly water.  I stamped, colored and die cut the fish and determined their placement.

Before adhering the fishies to the panel, I stamped and embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  I adhered the fishes to the panel along with clear droplets as an accent.  The completed card panel was then taped to a yellow notecard.

I hope you are inspired to play along with this month's challenge.  You can find all the details, including the rules and how to link up here.  Be sure to check out the inspiration from the Waffle Flower Design Team each Monday on the Waffle Flower blog.

Simple Sympathy Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the With Sympathy stamp set.  I really struggle with sympathy cards, I really don't even like to make them in advance (bad ju-ju and all), so typically I end up buying one at Hallmark or a drug store should the need arise.  I feel really bad about that because cards are kinda my thing and most my friends know that.

I have to say that the With Sympathy stamp set - here paired with the Konnichiwa stamp set makes it so simple to create an effortlessly elegant card.

I stamped the cherry blossom branch from Konnichiwa onto a piece of lightly textured card stock.  I die cut the word "sympathy," adhered it to the card, stamped "with" and a few blossoms. I trimmed the panel and adhered it to a black notecard.  It's simple, but a thoughtful gesture to let someone know that you are thinking of them during a difficult time.

Well that's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle design team.
