Happy Mother's Day {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

I am on the Avery Elle blog today sharing a card that I made with the Mother's Day stamp set.  A list of links to my Avery Elle supplies is below.

I stamped the flowers repeatedly on a panel of watercolor card stock and I colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

To soften the look, I added a layer of vellum on top of the stamped and watercolored panel.  I hid the adhesive behind the rectangle that I die cut with the Wonky Stitches Elle-ments die.  A bit of Hemp twine in Midnight Black adds a finishing touch.

Watercolor Birthday Balloons {Avery Elle}

Note: This is my second blog post today. If you are looking for the Lil' Inker blog hop, just scroll down!
---------

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Time to Party stamp set.  Since I have already made a few cards using the awesome birthday cake image (check out here and here), I decided to turn my attention to the fun birthday balloons stamp.

I stamped the image with Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Next I did some watercoloring with Distress Ink cubes.

I die cut the edge of the watercolor panel with the Scalloped die included in the Dotted Border Elle-ments stamp set.  I drew the balloon strings with a black fine tip pen and ruler, added a couple clear sequins and attached the panel to a coral note card with foam tape.

CardMaker Magazine and Lil' Inker Designs Blog Hop!

Hello friends,

Today, the Card Maker Magazine Blog Gals are teaming up with the Lil' Inker Design Team for a fun blog hop featuring loads of inspiration using Lil' Inker Designs awesome stamps and ingenious dies.  You should have arrived here from Chrissy Larson's blog.  The full list will be available on the CardMaker blog in case you need to catch a link or start from the beginning. :)

Teacher Appreciation day falls this year on May 2 and I am determined not to be scrambling the night before on cards and gifts.  My daughter's teachers deserve better!  So for my project, I chose to work with Teacher Talk stamp set, the Teacher word die, and the Stitched Mats Rectangle dies

I stamped the apple images onto a panel of white card stock in shades of red, pink, yellow and green and added in details like seeds, hearts and words with black ink.  Once the stamping was complete, I die cut the panel with the largest Stitched Mat rectangle die.  The stitched mat adds so much interest to the simple rectangle shape, and I love that Lil' Inker was the first to offer this innovative design.

I die cut "teacher" from bright pink card stock and stamped the sentiment just below the die cut word onto a rectangle which was die cut with one of the smaller Stitched Rectangles Mats dies.

I added just a few clear sequins to the card and I'm going to call this one complete!  I'll make a few more of these and I will be all set for Teacher Appreciation Day!

Happy Birthday Shaker Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today sharing a card featuring the Scalloped Pierced Rectangles Die along with the Time to Party stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments dies.  Links to all my Avery Elle supplies are below.

The Scalloped Pierced Rectangles dies make the most awesome frames with amazing detail.  I used the dies to create a shaker card that I will give to my youngest daughter for her birthday is a few months.  Double digits y'all!

I die cut a panel of aqua card stock with the die and created a shaker window using acetate and foam tape.  I filled the window with sequins and carefully attached it to a white note card.

On top of the acetate window, I added a frame cut with the Scalloped Pierced Rectangle dies from white card stock.  I stamped the cake image from Time to Party onto watercolor card stock.  I added a light wash of watercolors with my Zig Clean Color brush markers, die cut the image and adhered it to the card.

My Creative Space {CardMaker Magazine Blog}

Hello friends,

I am on the CardMaker Magazine blog today sharing some pictures of my craft room.  I've got loads of pictures over there, but in the meantime, here's a sneak peek.

A few months ago, I made a big move and brought my craft room downstairs from a spare bedroom to a room that is located just off the kitchen.  I love my new space, as I am around my family more, but it was tricky figuring out how to fit all my existing stuff into a room that features a wall-long fireplace hearth and lacks a closet.

I am planning to do a video of my new space in the coming weeks just as soon as I can get over a rather persistent case of laryngitis. :)

I hope you will stop by the CardMaker Magazine blog to take a look.

Love You a Bushel and a Peck {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Fruit Stand stamp set.

I stamped the images onto Bristol paper and colored them with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I also used the Picket Fence Elle-ment dies to help create a little scene.  The sky was created by blending Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass.

I just love that little puppy peeking out of the basket- it reminds me of our little Roxy pup!  I showed the card to my younger daughter and although she thought it was "very nice," she didn't know what the sentiment meant.  I tried to explain it to her, but I think I need to need to show her this video and maybe even the whole Guys and Dolls musical!

Ellen Hutson Mix it Up Challenge with Waffle Flower Crafts!

Hello friends!

I am so excited to be working with Ellen Hutson this month for the Mix it Up Challenge featuring Waffle Flower Crafts!

For my card, I combined Waffle Flower's Happy Day stamp set along with Ellen Hutson's Swing N Slide Designer Dies and Warm Fuzzies stamp set to create a fun slider card.  A list of supplies that I have used on my card is linked below.

I created the background by inking up a panel of white card stock with Distress Oxide Ink in Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint.  I die cut the long straight slider track towards the bottom corner of the panel.  I stamped, colored and die cut the bear and floral images from the Happy Day stamp set and added them to the background along with some green card stock cut with the Chunky Grass die.

I created the slider element by adhering some foam tape to the wheels of the bike and attaching a penny to the other side of the track. To help camouflage the track, I added another piece of card stock cut with the chunky grass die in front of the track.

Well that's all for me today!  Head on over to the Ellen Hutson CLASSroom for more details on the challenge and to link up your entry!
