Avery Elle Summer Release Blog Hop!

Hello friends,

Today's the day where we are celebrating Avery Elle's Summer Release.  I'm featuring the Tough Guy stamp set and coordinating die.  This set is so much fun and inspired me to make a retro circus strongman card:

I stamped and colored the Tough Guy with Copic Markers and die cut him with the coordinating die.  Once he was colored in, I settled upon the anchor as his chest tattoo- how fun is it to customize his tattoos?  Seriously- such a cool feature of this set.

I wanted to create a retro circus tent surrounding for the strongman and created that using the Custom Panel Elle-ments Dies. I stamped the star tattoos included in the set in what's supposed to represent the audience.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto a banner die included with the Pierced Banner Layer Elle-ments set and adhered all the pieces and parts to the note card.

Hats Off to the Grads + Giveaway {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

TGIF! I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a graduation card that I made using the Hats Off stamp set and dies. All my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

I try not to play favorites with my Avery Elle stamps (I love them all!), but I have to say that the Hats Off set is one of my favorites from the CHA release- it's such a unique set that lends itself to so many occasions.  My card is all about the grads and I paired the Hats Off stamp and die set with the Number Balloons Ellements die for a fun and festive look.

I stamped the hands and hats onto white card stock, colored this with Copic markers and die cut the shapes,  Next I die cut the number balloons from shiny gold card stock and secured a bit of gold thread to each number to act as the balloon string.  I adhered the numbers to a panel of white card stock and added the hats and hands- using foam tape to adhere both the hands and secure the gold thread to the card.  I mounted the finished panel onto a note card from the Midnight Collection note card set.

More Party Animals {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Happy Friday Party Animals!  :)  I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made using the More Party Animals stamp set.  All my Avery Elle supplies are listed below.

I stamped and heat embossed the balloon animals with white embossing powder and added color with Zig watercolor markers.  I die cut the animals and taped a silver thread to the back of the animals to serve as balloon strings.  I attached them with foam tape to a panel die cut with the Pierced Banner Layer Ellements.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto one of the smaller banners and adhered it with more foam tape which also secured the balloon strings to the card.

Skating By {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Skating By stamp set. This set is just perfect for young girls or girls who are young at heart.  All Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

I started with a note card from the Sugar Collection and covered it with a panel of patterned paper from The Every Day Collection paper pad. I stamped and colored the girl and balloons with New Moon dye ink and colored them in with Copic markers.  I die cut the images using the coordinating dies and mounted them to a circle cut with the Double Pierced Circle Ellements die. I trimmed the edge of the circle, adhered it to the card and added the sentiments.

Supplies:

This card has a playdate with a birthday party in a few short weeks! That's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle Design Team.

May Inspiration Challenge {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

A photo inspired Waffle Flower Challenge started yesterday and continues through the May 25.  This month, we are taking inspiration from this pretty sitting room nook.

I was inspired by the colors in the photo to create a card using watercolors and the Potted Stamp Set

I stamped and heat embossed the large succulent planter with white detail embossing powder onto a watercolor panel.  Next I added color using my Zig Clean Color brush markers.  I typically scribble the marker onto a stamp block or plastic pallet and then transfer the color to my canvas using a water brush.  Adding the extra water really softens the colors and allows for more of that lovely watercolor variation.  Once the panel was dry, I stamped a sentiment from the set with gray ink.

Find out all the details about the May Waffle Flower Challenge here including rules and how to link up.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Life is a Wonderful Experiment

Hello friends,

I have a card to share today that's just for fun.  Last weekend, I went to a crafty weekend with my girlfriends and it was good.  Good to catch up with everyone... good to establish a new set of inside jokes... good to be away from the daily grind... and good to be crafty.  I made a bunch of cards that I will be posting on my blog in the coming weeks, but I also had time to scrapbook and make some project just for fun.  This card is one of those.

I have been experimenting with MFT's Undeniable Chemistry stamp set by Laina Lamb for a few months.  I have made many, many cards with this set that for some reason of another, didn't feel right to me.  Not one to be deterred by past experiences and bolstered by the encouragement of my crafty friends, I decided that I would give it another go.   First I die cut the flasks from vellum and the liquid from watercolor paper so that I could add hue with my Zig Clean Color brush markers.

So far so good, so I decided to line the flasks up in rainbow order and borrow some inspiration fro my layout from Sketch 276 from the MFT Card Challenges blog.  I die cut the white panel with the Die-Namics Stitched Strip and stamped the sentiment with the help of my MISTI.  Finding the gray grid patterned paper in one of my old Studio Calico Project Life kits really made the colors pop.   I thought that the "Life is a Wonderful Experiment" sentiment was truly fitting for this card.  Goodness knows I have done my fair share of experimenting with this stamp set, but that's definitely been part of the fun.

That's all for me today, but if you are interested in checking out more of my projects that aren't featured on my blog (as well as the ones that are), I'd love for you to follow me on Instragram.
