Sparks Challenge: Sew Dang Cute

Hello friends!

I do hope that your week is off to a great start.  Today I am playing along with this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge.  It's the 5th Tuesday of the month, so this week's theme is Freestyle or Anything Goes.

My card uses Needle Little Love and lots of patterned paper from Teresa Collins.  The card shape was achieved by covering some Maya Road product packaging with cardstock and patterned paper and using that as a template.

You have until Sunday, August 4th at 10:59 pm EDT to link up your Paper Smooches creation!

SPARKS Challenge: You're Super!

For the Stamping Royalty Blog hop, just scroll down or click HERE.

Hello and happy Sunday!

I got a few spare moments today to play along with this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge. This week's challenge is a Cool Shades Challenge, all about color, and using this week's color story, here is my card:

My first paying job when I was younger (not counting babysitting, of course) was working at a grocery store...  Kroger, in Dublin, Ohio to be precise.  I worked there throughout high school in various jobs including, bagger, cashier, and video clerk- that last position may date me a bit.  We had an instore video rental service and we rented VHS tapes. Part of my job was to make sure that the tapes were rewound after each rental. Seems like so long ago....

Anyway, back to the card, needless to say, I have a soft spot in my heart for Market Fresh set, the Grocery Cart, and Shopping Bag die and I used those to tell this week's story.

I love the the bag die fits perfectly inside the cart and BONUS, when you bag isn't holding groceries, it doubles as a nifty gift card holder.

Here is a look at this week's colors:

That's all for me tonight.  Laundry is calling me! Thanks for stopping by!

Stamping Royalty 2013 Blog Hop!

Hello friends!

Welcome to the Stamping Royalty 2013 Blog Hop!  First of all, HUGE thanks to Paper Crafts Magazine and all of the sponsors for the amazing Stamping Royalty prizes. Thank you also to Paper Crafts magazine for allowing the Stamping Royalty court to take over the Paper Crafts Connection blog today!

The Stamping Royality 2013 court have been so overwhelmed with all of the stamping goodness that we wanted to put together a blog hop to say thank you and share our stampy bounty. You should have arrived here today from lovely Courtney Kelley's blog.  If not, head back to the Paper Crafts Connection blog so you don't miss a stop on the hop.

My Stamping Royalty win was in the Season's Greetings category, so for today's hop I decided to make a Holiday card using the Waltzingmouse Stamps set, Candy Jar Christmas, that was included in our prize box.

It's been a sweltering week here in tropical NE Ohio, so I thought a little holiday spirit might cool things off.  I covered a kraft card base with some patterned paper from My Mind's Eye (Merry Collection), adhered a doily and wrapped a ribbon around the patterned paper and tied it into a bow.

Next I die cut a button card from some chipboard and stamped the top scroll and bottom location in Rich Cocoa Ink by Tsukineko.  I added Sweet Shoppe and Mrs. Claus' silhouette in Rhubarb Stalk ink (also Tsukineko).  Instead of buttons, I stamped and punched out the small peppermint candies.

I adhered the peppermints with pop dots and covered them with Stickles for some sugar-coated shine.  I also inked the edges of the button card with a bit of Fine Linen Distress Ink before adhering it to the card. I think it feels frosty in here already!  LOL!

What's a blog hop without a few prizes and giveaways along the way?  To that end, I am offering this bundle of stampy fun:

To be entered for the prize, just leave me a comment by Tuesday, July 23 at 11:59 p.m. ET.  I will draw a winner from the comments received at that time and that lucky person will win the following stamp sets:
Gourmet Rubber Stamps- God Bless the USA
Sweet Stamp Shop- Sweet Alpha Doodles
Skipping Stones Design- Grapeful
The Craft's Meow- Stitched Sentiments and Stitched Flowers
Hampton Art- Crowning Moments
Hero Arts/ Studio Calico- Starburst Background
I will announce the winner on my blog on Wednesday, July 24.  The winner will have one week to contact me to claim the prize, so don't forget to check back! This contest is open to all- US and International.

Next stop is, the oh so talented, Jennifer Rzasa!  But just in case, here's the entire hop order...

Katie Gehring- you are here :)

That's all for me today!  Thank you for stopping by!

Introducing Scrap Circles!

dsc_0136

Hello friends!

Happy Friday! Today, we are introducing a new set at Neat and Tangled called Scrap Circles. Scrap Circles is a sister set to the Everyday Circles set that the team previewed earlier this week.  Scrap Circles is perfect for accenting your scrapbook and project life pages!

I used a few Scrap Circles on this Project Life page:

I stamped Date and Notes circles on white cardstock before punching them out and adhering them to my page. All of the circles coordinate with standard 1.25, 1.5 and 1.75 circle punches making them super easy to incorporate into your projects.

Scrap Circles, Everyday Circles and Ink Splash are now available for purchase at the Neat and Tangled shop!  Be sure to stop by the Neat and Tangled blog to check out even more inspiration and see if you are a winner of a set previewed earlier this week!

That's all for me today! Have a great weekend!

Introducing Ink Splash!

dsc_0069

Hello!

Welcome to the second day of release activities at Neat and Tangled!  Today, we are showing off a super fun mini set called Ink Splash.

Ink Splash features two stamps, the first is a large splash and the second is a mini splash.  Despite the set containing only two images, I was AH-MAZED at the different splashy looks you could get by rotating the stamps and stamping off the side of the paper.  I can tell I will be reaching for this one a LOT!

dsc_0070

Starting with a white panel, I stamped the large ink splash in yellow and pink ink.  I added the smaller splat in orange and another small splat in pink in the top left corner of the card.

A bit of washi tape and some sequins finished off the panel before I matted it on some dark gray cardstock and adhering it to a white card base. The "You Rock" sentiment is from Sparkle and Shine.

Don't forget to stop by the Neat and Tangled blog to check out the other projects from the Design Team and for a chance to win this set and some really awesome sequins. Ink Splash will be available for purchase on Friday, July 12 at 8 a.m.!

That's all for me today.  Thank you for stopping by!
