Seal-Abrate! {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

Happy Friday! I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made using the Seal-Abrate stamp set and coordinating dies.

Last weekend, I finally got around to enrolling in the Copic Markers for card makers self-paced class at Online Card Classes.   I am still very much a beginner, but I picked up tons of great tips and techniques.  I watched a bunch of the videos and stamped out a ton of these cute little seals to practice coloring and shading.  I gave my E31, E33, E35, and E39 markers quite the workout! I thought that this one turned out the best, so I die cut him and his little stool.  Before adhering the seal to the card, I sponged some Sea Glass pigment ink onto the center of a 4.25" square card and stamped the sentiment.

I was going for a circus vibe with the background and used the Burst Elle-ment die cut twice- once in white and once in red.  I snipped apart the red die cut and adhered it to the white before adhering the die cut overlay onto the card.

Well that's it for me today!  I am off work taking a long weekend, and it's going to be a fun one too! Tomorrow is crafty day with some of my girlfriends, and Sunday is our summer trip to Cedar Point amusement park with Jason and the girls.  Today will be filled with cleaning, shopping and preparing so I can enjoy the rest of what the weekend has in store!

Please be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from Jamie and the rest of the Avery Elle team!

Cute Toucan Card {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

While shopping at Target this weekend, I came across the most adorable set of pajamas which served as the inspiration for my card.

So cute, right?!  I loved the colors and those striped shorts are super fun. Using the Leafy stamp set and Hibiscus stamp set and dies, here's what I created...

I stamped the fern leaves from the Leafy stamp set with shade 5 from the Spring Blend Inkpad.  I stamped and die cut the bird and colored it with copics before adhering it to the circle and stamping the sentiment.

I had to incorporate the striped shorts, so I adhered a strip of patterned paper from my stash.  The scalloped edge is from the Flower Circles Die set.  I separated the "petals" and tucked them under the patterned paper strip to make a scalloped border.

Well, that's all for me today! In the meantime, I think those jammies need to come home with me as a gift for my little niece.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Geek Love {Avery Elle}

Hello friends and Happy Friday!

I am on the Avery Elle blog with a card I made featuring the Geek Love stamp set

I stamped and colored the little girl borrowing the mortar cap and diploma from the Swim Team stamp set.  I created the chalk board with the Double Pierced Rectangle Dies and the Happy Collection Patterned Paper Pad.  I embossed the sentiment from Geek Love with white embossing powder.  I also rolled up some scraps of paper to look like chalk.

That's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Design Team!

Petal Panel Cards {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a couple cards I made using the Petal Plate Additions Elle-ments and the Petal Panel stamp set

For the first card, I die cut several of teardrop shapes and arranged them into a flower.  I stamped the sentiment with versamark and embossed it with green embossing powder to make a flower stem. Before adhering the stamped panel to a notecard from the Midnight collection folded A2 cards, I added a bit of patterned paper from the Neutral Collection Paper Pad.

My second card pairs the Petal Plate Additions Elle-ments with the Handwritten Notes stamp set.  I die cut the white cardstock using the Finished Frames Elle-ment die and adhered it to a folded card base from the Caribbean notecard collection.

Well that's it for me today!  Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle team!

DIY Pineapple Chic {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today with a collection of DIY projects perfect for the pineapple lover in you.

I also made a pineapple card using the sweet pineapple image that Nina included in the Willy and Friends stamp set.  I stamped the pineapple image repeatedly with black hybrid ink and painted it with Distress Ink in Fossilized Amber and Mowed Lawn.  The pink pineapple was achieved using Worn Lipstick ink.

I created the background by stamping Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw Ink onto a piece of acetate and sprayed some water onto the acetate.  I smooshed it onto the watercolor paper and spread it around.

The sentiment is from the Hibiscus stamp set.  I added a few enamel dots as a finishing touch.

Be sure to stop by the Waffle Flower Craft blog for even more pineapple inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by!

Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing-Tweet Tweet {Avery Elle}

Hello friends and Happy Friday!

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made using the Tweet Tweet stamp set and coordinating dies

My card was inspired by some artwork featuring my very favorite Disney guilty pleasure- The Enchanted Tiki Room.  I am not sure if it's the retro special effects or the welcome rest and air conditioning inside this attraction, but I always look forward to spending 10 minutes with Jose, Fritz and the rest of the singing birds.

I stamped the bird perch onto an aquamarine note card and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I added some shading with Copic Markers.  I stamped and die cut the birds and flowers- also coloring with copics and added the sentiments and music notes with black ink.  To add a finishing touch, I embossed a dotted frame using the Pierced Rectangles Elle-ments die.  It would be a lucky person indeed to be serenaded by these Tiki Room birdies!

Well that's all for me today, but be sure to swing by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from our team!

I added a wash of watercolor to make the floor and the jungle background.  Next I stamped the ferns from Leafy with Waffle Flower's Chalk Ink (shade 1). I love how beautifully the chalk ink blends with the Distress Ink.

I stamped and die cut the monkey from Willy and Friends and colored him more Distress Ink.  The branch and sentiment are from the Hibiscus stamp set.

In honor of Shark Week, I have another card to share featuring the Tiger and Lily stamp set and dies

I added a bit of color to the background with Distress Ink and stamped and die cut the shark conga line- this time coloring with Copic Markers.

Is there anything more fun than a shark conga line?  In costume, no less?  I think not! The sentiment is from Willy and Friends.

Delightful Pineapple Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

Happy Friday and Happy July 4th weekend to my US friends! I am on the Avery Elle blog with a fruity fun card featuring the Stay Fresh stamp set and die

I made the background by cutting scraps of card stock (Mimosa, White, Aquamarine, Sea Glass, Fizz and Daisy) with the Dotted Borders Elle-ments die and adhered it to a note card from the Citrus Collection. I stamped the pineapple and colored it with Copic Markers, die cut it and adhered it to the card.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto the card front with black ink.

My card was inspired by a gift bag that I spotted when shopping last weekend at Tuesday Morning (love that store!).  I am sure the other shoppers thought I was out of my mind for taking pictures in the stationary aisle!

Well that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration!

Thanks!

Bottle It Up is a super fun set- perfect for building your own terrarium.  My card features a message in a bottle.

I stamped and die cut the bottle and added a bit of aqua shading with a Copic marker.  I rolled up a piece of paper and tied it with twine before adhering it to the bottle.  The water and waves are from the new Swim Team stamp set and dies.  I added a cork bottle stopper for a little texture.
