Year of the Monkey {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

Next Monday, February 8, 2016 is Chinese New Year and the start of the Year of the Monkey.  To celebrate, I pill out some of my Waffle Flower Stamps sets and combined the Willy and Friends stamp set with the Calendar Numbers stamp set to create a Chinese New Year card.

I stamped and die cut the Willy monkey, but I exchanged his expression with Claire's. Did you know that all three monkeys in the Willy and Friends stamp set have the same size face- so you can mix and match their facial expressions.

 I stamped the remainder of the calendar numbers with red ink and added a small sentiment from the Doily Circle stamp set under the year.  I added a bit of gold and white washi tape (which is reading as black and white in my photo) to the panel and adhered it to a red card base.

Well that's it for me today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

All I Want for Christmas is You {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am popping in today to share a cute Christmas card I made for my sweetie with a bit of help from Willy and Faye along with the Stocking stamp set.

I started with a green note card and stamped some of the accessories from the Stocking stamp set onto the note card with green ink.  To keep it extra simple, I arrange the stamps on a large acrylic block, inked it up and stamped it a few times.  Next I stamped and masked the darling monkeys from the Willy stamp set and the Faye stamp set.  I colored the monkeys with Copic markers and added a few Santa accessories to Willy using the Stocking stamp set and Stocking die.

I die cut a circle around the monkeys using the Flower Circles die set and layered it with the Stay Focused die.  I stamped the sentiment from the Stocking stamp set onto a strip of red card stock and added the "you" below the monkey couple. A few wooden stars add a finishing touch.

I think these monkeys are just the cutest and my hubby will be surprised to get a special card just for him on Christmas morning.

Well that's all for me today, thanks for stopping by!

DIY Pineapple Chic {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today with a collection of DIY projects perfect for the pineapple lover in you.

I also made a pineapple card using the sweet pineapple image that Nina included in the Willy and Friends stamp set.  I stamped the pineapple image repeatedly with black hybrid ink and painted it with Distress Ink in Fossilized Amber and Mowed Lawn.  The pink pineapple was achieved using Worn Lipstick ink.

I created the background by stamping Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw Ink onto a piece of acetate and sprayed some water onto the acetate.  I smooshed it onto the watercolor paper and spread it around.

The sentiment is from the Hibiscus stamp set.  I added a few enamel dots as a finishing touch.

Be sure to stop by the Waffle Flower Craft blog for even more pineapple inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by!

Coloring Fun Blog Hop {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends!

It's Release Day at Waffle Flower Crafts and we are celebrating with a blog hop that's all about coloring fun!

You should have arrived today from lovely, talented and witty Laura Bassen's blog. If not, you can catch the entire hop order below or start from the beginning at at the Waffle Flower Crafts blog

My first card features the Leafy stamp set, the Hibiscus stamp set and dies, and the Willy and Friends stamp set and coordinating dies. My color medium is Distress Inks.

I added a wash of watercolor to make the floor and the jungle background.  Next I stamped the ferns from Leafy with Waffle Flower's Chalk Ink (shade 1). I love how beautifully the chalk ink blends with the Distress Ink.

I stamped and die cut the monkey from Willy and Friends and colored him more Distress Ink.  The branch and sentiment are from the Hibiscus stamp set.

In honor of Shark Week, I have another card to share featuring the Tiger and Lily stamp set and dies

I added a bit of color to the background with Distress Ink and stamped and die cut the shark conga line- this time coloring with Copic Markers.

Is there anything more fun than a shark conga line?  In costume, no less?  I think not! The sentiment is from Willy and Friends.

Nina is generously giving away a $50.00 gift certificate to the Waffle Flower shop.  Just leave a comment on each of the stops on the hop and the Winner will be drawn from comments left on all of the participating blogs. Enter by midnight, Sunday July 12. The winner will be announced on Waffle Flower blog on Monday July 13.

The entire new release is available now in the Waffle Flower shop. Your next stop on the hop is stamping superstar, Jennifer McGuire!

The entire hop list is below:

Thanks for stopping by and good luck!
