Big Congrats {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Big Congrats stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments die.

Using the Big Congrats Elle-ments die, I cut Congrats from gold card stock and the backing layer in white card stock. I layered the die cuts and used Avery Elle's liquid adhesive to attach the layers together.

I stamped the "So Happy for You" sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder.

I had a crafty zoom session with my friends on Saturday night and pulled out some alcohol inks. I played around with the supplies and created a few backgrounds using different colors. I pulled out one of this backgrounds and trimmed it to an A2 panel. I adhered the die cut and sentiment onto an alcohol ink background. I added a few clear flat sequins as a finishing touch.

Suns Out and Whiskers {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog this week with a double feature of inspiration... two cards featuring the Suns Out and Whiskers stamp sets!

First is a card featuring the adorable and hilarious Suns Out clear stamps. This set just makes me smile. I colored the Bunny and his toasty buns with Copic Markers, die cut the images and positioned him on the Sea Scene Elle-ments die. I adhered the sea scene to an A2 notecard covered with Avery Elle's patterned paper.

I added a cluster of flowers and leaves from the Tropical Bouquet clear stamps and stamped the sentiment in black ink onto a Party Tag Elle-ments die cut. I trimmed the tag and adhered it to the top of my card.

My next card features the new Whiskers clear stamps. I wanted to feature ALL the kitties in the set, so I decided to create four little vignettes on a slimline card. I masked off the card at 2 1/8 increments and blended Distress Oxide ink to create the backgrounds. I spattered the blended panel with water and used an white gel pen to brighten some of the water spots.

Next I stamps, colored and die cut all the kitties and their accessories. I adhered the kitties to each panel and added a sentiment from the set. I really love these sweet felines and I know just the cat lover who will appreciate this card!

Supplies:

Well that's all for me this Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start.

Fuzzy Puppy Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Puppies are the best. They're so fuzzy and sweet. All of that darling puppy goodness is captured perfectly in Avery Elle's new Dog-Gone clear stamp set.

Sometimes, colored images can look a bit flat, but there's a very simple technique that you can use to add a little texture and dimension to stamped images colored with Copic markers.

First, stamp and color your images as usual.  If there are any parts of the image that you don't want to texturize, leave that area uncolored. (See the dog collar and tag in the bottom left image below. )

Next, grab a terry cloth towel and Copic Colorless Blending Solution and add a few drops a small area of the towel.

Press the towel on the colored images and the blending solution will lift the ink leaving behind the texture of the towel.

Super fun and simple too! Now here are all these fuzzy cuties on a card.

I used a cloud stencil and the Dotted Borders Elle-ments die to create a little background for the puppy party. I added some of the accessories and smaller images from the stamp set to round out the scene.

Supplies:

I hope you'll give this technique a shot next time you'd like to add some faux fur texture to your colored images.

For my card, I create a dusky canoe ride for the bear and bunny.  I blended a background of Distress Oxide Inks in Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw and Peacock Feathers. My color combo was inspired by the Summer of Stamping graphic above.

I stamped and colored the images using Copic markers. I die cut the images using the coordinating dies, and before adhering them to the background, I spattered the background with a bit of water and white paint.

I adhered the images to the card, stamped the sentiment and some of the bugs with black ink. I used a white gel pen to color in the bug wings and to intensify some of the ink spatters.

Camping Critters Slimline Card + VIDEO {Avery Elle}

Hello!

I am on the Avery Elle blog and You Tube channel this week with a video to share with you featuring the adorable Camping Critters clear stamps on a Slimline card. Slimline cards are very popular right now. Trying something a little different using supplies that you already have adds just a little extra jolt of joy into the creative process.

Slimline cards also give you all that glorious space to fill. The Camping Critters needed a background befitting of the great outdoors.

There are lots of different size variations on Slimline cards, but my favorite is 3 5/8 x 8 1/2. Using those dimensions, I can trim a sheet of watercolor card stock into equal thirds with only a tiny strip of leftover scrap paper.

Slimline panels will fit into the regular-size MISTI and the finished cards pair with #10 business sized envelopes. Take a peek at my video to see how it all came together.

I hope this video helps demystify the Slimline card, and you'll give it a try for a future project!

Stay Cool {Avery Elle}

Hello friends

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring a couple of cool characters from the Stay Cool Clear Stamps set. This set is fantastic for all the cool cats, bunnies, dogs and bears in your life and the sentiments are perfect for so many occasions.

I stamped the bear and dog images onto white card stock and colored them with Copic Markers. I die cut the images along with the "Stay Cool" speech bubble. I needed a cool background befitting of these characters, so I layered a piece of ombre paper from The Spring Collection Paper Pad behind a die-cut background created with the Waves Elle-ments die.

I adhered the images to the background. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto a tag created with the Party Tags Elle-ments. I added some of the stars from the set as a finishing touch before adhering the completed panel to an A2 notecard.

Thanks for stopping by, party animals! I hope you have a cool week!

Avery Elle Summer 2020 Blog Hop

Hello friends!

I am so excited for Avery Elle's Summer 2020 Release! There's a fun blog hop full of inspiration and a giveaway too!

I am sharing a couple of cards featuring the new Peek-A-Boo Boat stamp set. I LOVE a Peek-A-Boo set and I wanted to give these nautical pals some space to catch waves, so I created a slimline card which gave me space for the speed boat to pull the inner tube.

I trimmed a panel of water color card stock to 3 5/8 x 8 1/2. I used Distress Ink to blend a sky and water background. I stamped, colored and die cut the images and adhered them to the card attaching the inner tube to the boat with a piece of cherry hemp twine.

I added some of the jumping fish and water droplets as a finishing touch and stamped the sentiment in the top right corner of the card.

For my next card, I tried a fun Z-fold technique which would reveal a surprise scene.

I stamped, colored and die cut the images and set them aside. To make the Z-fold card, I ink blended a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 panel of watercolor card stock and scored it at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4. I folded along the score lines to make a Z-shape.

I positioned the hammerhead shark in the center of the top panel so that it would hide the whale in the inner tube. I trimmed the sentiment and stamped it on the top panel and added another sentiment to the inner tube. I connected the two vessels with twine.

 I love how this sweet scene reveals itself with this fun interactive design.

All of the new products are available or purchase now in the Avery Elle store.
