Clique Kits + Friends Blog Hop

Good morning friends and happy Friday!

Today, I, along with other members of the Waffle Flower Crafts design team and friends are participating in the Clique Kits + Friends June Blog Hop.  Using the June Clique Kit along with some Waffle Flower stamps and dies, I created a scrapbook layout (!) and a card to share with you today.

First up, a scrapbook layout featuring some pictures I took of Sophie when we were exploring the trails at a local park. Many of the papers and embellishments included in the June kit are from Crate Paper's Journey collection and it pairs perfectly with many Waffle Flower stamp sets and dies.

Along with the June Clique Kit, my layout features The Doily Square die, the Feather More stamp set and the Pattern Play stamp set

Next up, a card featuring the Tribal Thank You stamp set. I die cut a circle using the Flower Circles die set and stamped the bear and border using Waffle Flower Summer Chalk Ink in shades 9 and 16.

I stamped the sentiment on a die cut and added a few puffy stickers as accent.

Here's a look at the June Clique Kit.  I was so impressed with the amount of product included in the kit.  They are really quite generous and many, many cards and layouts can be made from the contents of a single kit.

Here's a list of the designers participating in today's hop:

Well that's all for me today!  Happy hopping and thanks for stopping by!

A Positive Trend {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am on the Waffle Flower blog today sharing some photos that are "positively inspiring."  That's right, it's all about the plus sign, and I used the iconic plus sign border in the Pattern Play stamp set to create these Birthday cards.

I am sometimes asked how I stamp borders evenly and I wanted to share my secret for even spacing and alignment- the Fiskars stamp press.

The foam feet on the corners of the press allow me to position the stamp and make sure that everything is lined up before pressing the stamp down completely.

For the two Happy Birthday cards, I staggered the plus sign pattern, but still made sure that the horizontal line was lined up with the edge of the card stock.

For the Shake It Off card using the DT Mix stamp set, I aligned the stamp press with both the horizontal and vertical edges of the card stock to line up the plus signs.

I do hope that you will stop by the Waffle Flower blog today and check out even more plus sign inspiration.  I promise that the "added" click will be "positively" worth it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Succulent love {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today with a sharing some inspiration on a "growing" trend... succulents and here's a closer look at my card and a couple tips.

To create depth, I masked the two flower pots from the Planted stamp set before stamping the polka dot background from the Pattern Play stamp set.  While some may prefer fancy masking paper, I usually just reach for a pad of post-it notes and stamp the widest portion of the image onto the adhesive portion of the post it note.

 Next, I grab some scissors and cut out the image.  I try to get as close as I can to the design. Position the post it over the image- the sticky from the post-it is usually enough to hold in place without adding any extra adhesive and risk messing up your project.  Once the mask is in place, stamp the background.

After stamping, if your masks are in pretty good shape, consider storing them along with the stamp set to save time.

I do hope you will stop by the Waffle Flower blog to see more about the growing tend of stylish succulents!

Thanks for stopping by!
