Rainbow of Get Well Wishes

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog this week with a card featuring the Everyday Circle Tag stamp set. This set makes fantastic tags and coordinates perfectly with the Holiday Circle Tag Dies. With its stylish font and design, this has quickly become my go-to sentiment set!

I pulled out the Rainbow Elle-ments Die and made a shaped card with a touch of glitter card stock and lots of bright and beautiful colors. I added the smiling sun from the Sunshine stamp set peeking over the rainbow.

In the clouds, I stamped the "Get Well Soon" sentiment. A bright and cheery rainbow will hopefully brighten the recipient's day!

On the back of. the card, I added` the "Handmade with Love" sentiment and the hand drawn heart. The Everyday Circle Tags ``set truly has it all!

Get Well {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today sharing a card that I made with the Get Well stamp set and coordinating Get Well Elle-ments die.

I stamped the bouquet and sentiment in Versamark and embossed the imaged with gold powder.  I used the coordinating dies to partially die cut the bouquet, and I watercolored the image with Distress Inks.

I adhered a strip of patterned paper from the Sorbet Paper Collection to a Sea Glass card base from the Caribbean note card collection and attached the stamped panel to the card base with foam tape.

One day at a time {Paper Smooches SPARKS}

Hello friends!

I hope you are having a lovely weekend!  I am popping in today with a card that I created for this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge.  This week's theme is an easy one- it's ANYTHING GOES and here's what I came up with.

I recently picked up the First Aid Kit stamp set and decided to create a Get Well card for a friend in need of some healing wishes and prayers.  First, I stamped the images from the set in kraft ink on a kraft card base to create a background. The sentiment included in the set, "one day at a time" sparked the idea of a calendar, so I created one using the Quote Tag die as the base.

I die cut the tag from brown card stock and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  I cut some rectangles from white card stock and stamped the numbers from the Digits stamp set.  I stacked a few dates together to give it some dimension.  This calendar element could be a fun interactive element too.  If you use staples to hold together the calendar, the recipient could tear off the top number and track the count down.

Ready to play? You know the routine! You have until 11:59 PT on Saturday, September 13 link up your take on this week's challenge to the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog for a chance to win a $30.00 gift certificate to the Paper Smooches store. Woot woot!

Well that's all for me today!  I am off to get this in the mail! Be sure to check out inspiration from the talented Paper Smooches SPARKS team playing along with this week's challenge:

Wishing You Brighter Days Card

Hello friends!

I am popping in today to share a just for fun card that I made with Avery Elle's Weather It stamps set and dies.

If you have been keeping up with my Stamp Out Chaos ramblings, I mentioned that I keep a basket on my desk of stamps and dies that have yet to see crafty action.  My humble goal toward achieving a more minimal and streamlined crafty environment is to work through what I already own before purchasing new.  With a new Avery Elle release on the horizon (I admit I have a bit of an Avery Elle addiction....), I need to get to stamping!

First I trimmed a panel of aqua card stock and stamped the raindrops on the bottom portion of the card. Next, I stamped and die cut the clouds and adhered them to the card.  I also stamped the sentiment in black ink.

For the balloons, my original intent was to stamp the raindrops upside down to form the balloons, but the scale was off, so the Rounded Diamonds stamp set came to my rescue with a drop shape that was the perfect size. I simply drew squiggly lines to make the balloon strings and added the smiley face from We Go Together.  I adhered the completed card to a kraft card stock base.

My inspiration for this card came from this print I found on Pinterest:

So fun, right?! I find the BEST inspiration on Pinterest.  In case you'd like to follow along, click the button in the left column of my blog or visit my boards here.

Well I am off for a day of (hopefully) productive fun with my crafty friends, so that's all I have for today.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take 2 Thursday: Studio Calico Get Well Card

Hello friends,

I can't believe that it's already Thursday!  Where has this week gone?  My friend Lindsay and I are back today for another Take 2 Thursday.  This week, we are using the stamp set from Studio Calico's March 2014 kit- Office Hours and here's my take:

I never seem to have enough Get Well cards in my stash and unfortunately, need for Get Well wishes often arise without warning, so I need to do a better job of keeping them on hand.  This card is a step in that direction.

I stamped and masked the clouds and added colorful raindrops, plus signs and umbrellas.  I stamped  the sentiment at the very bottom of the panel with gray ink.   I adhered the stamped panel to a piece of adhesive backed cord that I had attached to a Fine Linen card base.  I added a heart-shape wood veneer that acts as a push pin.

Well that's all for me today, be sure to stop by Lindsay's blog to see her take with this kit.

Stamp Out Chaos update and a Publication share

Hello friends!

So I am afraid that the Easter holiday got the better of me over the past couple weeks and I don't have a Stamp Out Chaos update to share this week. Sad face... :(  I promise that the next Stamp Out Chaos post will be on May 7 and Lindsay and I will be taking on the topic of Embellishments.

Over the past couple of weeks I have made progress on my space including purging over 6 boxes of craft supplies and donating it to Sophie's Kindergarten teacher.  I have also pulled out some under-loved stamps and dies which I will be listing for sale in the coming week.

I am afraid I have come to the point though in my organizational journey that I have to get serious about making improvements to the room.  After all, there is only so much that can be done within the confines of an Expedit cube.  Yes, friends, I am talking about spackle and paint.  I can tell myself that spackle is like embossing paste for the walls, but that won't change the fact that I have a messy and time-consuming project ahead of me.  I have picked up a few paint swatches and have taped them up on the wall to try them out a bit.

So far, I am leaning toward the lightest shade on the middle swatch card called Polar Star (aka light gray).  I think I am looking for something neutral against which I can accent with bold accent colors.

Once the painting is complete, I can hang a shelf above my work area that I think will be critical in helping me keep some essential supplies orderly and within reach.  I will also be able to tackle die storage which will help immensely. More to come on that in the coming weeks.

Well, I don't want to sign off today without something creative, so I wanted to share a card I made for the Get Well feature in the April 2014 issue of Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine.   It was featured on the Plugged In with Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking magazine a few weeks back.

It's call "Get Well Cone of Shame." Those Paper Crafts editors are too clever. The dachshund is a Silhouette cut file and I fashioned a cone from vellum and wrapped it around the dog's head.  The shadow is from a watercolor stamp set and the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.

Well that's all for me today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sparks Challenge: Get Better at Warp Speed

Hello friends and Happy Friday!

Just popping in today to share a little Get Well treat box for the latest Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge. The theme this week is Anything Goes.

I found this cute treat box at a local stationary supply store.  It was just a plan white box begging for some personality.  I wanted to work with the circle cut out in the box front, so it became the moon for my little space scene. I used Paper Smooches Space Cadet and the patterned paper is from Studio Calico- Atlantis Collection.

I love the Anything Goes weeks because you can really let your imagination run free and showcase all the Paper Smooches goodness!

Well, that's it for me today.  I will be back tomorrow to share another card in honor of World Card Making Day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Have a goodie!
