Sweet Cotton Candy Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

It's Cotton Candy week on the Avery Elle Design Blog, and I am so excited to share my card with you today featuring this fun stamp set! When I saw this stamp set, I wanted to figure out a way to make a card that actually looked like cotton candy (minus the sticky).

My solution was to use polyester fiber-fill or stuffing.  I sponged the fiber-fill with Distress Oxide ink in Worn Lipstick before glueing the fluff to a stamped and colored image of the spool of cotton candy.  I adhered a second layer of card stock on top of the stamped image. Before adhering the two layers of card stock together, I stamped the sentiment in black ink and added a couple of the accent stars and circles.  I used both cotton candy outline dies to cut a border from white glitter card stock.

This card was so fun to make, and the fiber-fill really does look like cotton candy!

By popular request, I made a video to show you how this card came together.  I hope you'll take a peek!

All of Us {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Just popping by quickly today to share a card featured a couple weeks back on the Avery Elle design blog.  You know when you think you published a post, but you didn't.  Yep, that's been my February! Anyway, I thought I would share my All of Us card here with you, because this set is super cute and so fun to color!

I stamped the line of kitties onto white card stock twice using Avery Elle's New Moon Dye ink.  Next, I used Copic Markers to add markings to each kitty. It was so fun to give each kitty unique markings and his or her own personality. I die cut the kitties with the coordinating All of Us Elle-ments die and trimmed each line in half.

I arranged the kitties in frames cut with the Photo Mat Elle-ments die.  I stamped, colored and die cut the little signs and tucked them behind the line of kitties. I backed each frames scene with patterned paper and adhered the frames onto a note card that I covered with diagonal patterned paper from the Sorbet Patterned Paper collection.

As a finishing touch, I added some of the photo corners and other elements from the Photo Mat Elle-ments set.

I just love this set.  It's perfect for making cards from a crowd!

Avery Elle Spring 2019 Blog Hop!

Hello friends!

I am so excited to be joining in all the fun with Avery Elle's Spring 2019 new product release and Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from Melania's blog

I have a fun card to share with you today using the new Journey stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments die.  The Journey stamp set features this adorable car with trailing balloons, tree and sentiments perfect for so many occasions.  From birthdays to weddings to graduations and other accomplishments, Journey's got you covered!

To make my card, I blended a watercolor panel with a bit of Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron.  I stamped some of the stars from the set onto the grass for a little more interest.  Next, I added some die cuts using the Cityscapes Elle-ments set and the Wonky Scalloped Frame Elle-ments.

I stamped the images with Avery Elle's New Moon dye ink and colored them with Copic markers. I adhered the images to the panel and stamped the "Celebrate" sentiment onto the sun shape. Such a fun stamp set and perfect for teens!  I'm going to tuck this one away for my daughter's 16th birthday, which is coming faster than I care to admit.  :)

Some Bunny Loves You {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today featuring the sweet Some Bunny stamp set.

First, I stamped the bunny, balloon, and hearts onto white card stock using Avery Elle's New Moon dye ink.  I colored the images with Copic markers and die cut them using the Some Bunny Elle-ments dies.

Next, I cut a panel of watercolor card stock with the Wonky Stitches Elle-ments die and used Distress Oxide Ink t create a blended panel.  I spatted the blended background with water and gold Color Shine.

Finally, I adhered the images to the background and stamped the sentiment with black ink before adhering it to a white A2 notecard.

I think it was Winnie the Pooh who said, "No one can be uncheered with a balloon."  I hope this card and sweet stamp set brings a little cheer to your day.

Stockpiling Simple Sentiments {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Katie here with a simple tip using the Simple Sentiments stamp set.

Stacking sentiments can help small, simple sentiments make a big impact, and I have a tip to share to easily create a stockpile of these sentiments so they are ready for your next card project.

We're going for minimal effort here, so to stamp the sentiments at once, I kept all the stamps on the carrier sheet and taped the sheet to my MISTI using washi tape.

These sentiments are spaced out evenly- so that you can die cut around the sentiments you want to use with the Simple Sentiments Elle-Ments die.

I used light tack tape to hold the dies in place while I ran them through my die cut machine.

You can keep the sheet intact and die cut additional sentiments as the need arises, but I decided to use my trimmer to cut up the rest of the sentiments.  I'll be all set to add a simple sentiment or two to my next card!

I added three of the simple sentiments to a card featuring the Toucan Party stamp set.  I think the sentiments compliment the Toucan scene perfectly!

Happy Heart Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog this week with a quick and cute little card to share with you featuring the And Then stamp set.  And Then is a fantastic sentiment set.  It's perfect for your all the loves in your life, from family and significant others to kiddos and special friends.

I adore the "You make my Heart Happy" sentiment and it takes center stage on the Tons of Hearts Frame Elle-ments die.  I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx ink and heat embossed it with Avery Elle's clear embossing powder.

I backed the hearts frame die that with a panel of blended Distress Oxide inks (Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, and Wilted Violet).  I attached the panel to a white notecard trimmed down to 4.25" square.

I hope this little card made your heart happy!  It makes my heart happy that you shared part of your day with me!  Thanks for stopping by!

Ombre Valentine Peacock {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and I have a cute card to share with you today featuring Avery Elle's Peacock stamp set and the Tons of Hearts Frame Elle-ments die.

I die cut a white panel of card stock using the Tons of Hearts Frame Elle-ments die.  In the center, I stamped and heat embossed the Peacock and the sentiment with Veramark ink and embossed the images using Avery Elle's fine-detail embossing powder in Rose Gold.

I colored the Peacock in shades of pink and red with Copic markers and adhered the frame panel to an ink-blended piece of card stock.  I love how the background colors peek through the heart openings!
