Waterbrush Watercolors {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Just popping in to share a technique using Avery Elle's new liquid watercolors along with the Loved and Admired stamp set. I just can't stop using the liquid watercolors.  I love the liquid formula- no more messy muddy paint pans- these watercolors are ready to go right out of the bottle! The liquid formula also lends itself to some easy techniques- like adding color directly to the barrel of a waterbrush.  Watercoloring doesn't get much easier than that.  A list of supplies and links are below.

First, I stamped and heat embossed the wreath image onto a panel of watercolor card stock using Avery Elle's Rose Gold embossing powder.

To watercolor the wreath image, I added drops of Avery Elle's Liquid Watercolors in Mint to Be and Cherry to the chambers of two waterbrushes.  Using the waterbrushes, I easily added watercolor pigments to the wreath image.   If the color is too pale, you can add more drops of the watercolor pigment to the barrel.  If the mixed color is too intense, add a little more water to the chamber.  Once you are finished with the watercolor in the waterbrush, just rinse out the chamber and the brush to switch colors or go back to plain water.

I die cut the wreath and stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it with more Rose Gold embossing powder.  I die cut the bottom of the white card stock panel with the scallop Dotter Border Elle-ments die before adhering the panel to a mint card base.

I have a quick video on Avery Elle's You Tube channel to show you this technique in action and how my card came together.  I hope you'll check it out!

Party Pals {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Just popping in today with a fun card featuring the Party Pals stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments die.  For your convenience, below you can find a list of all the Avery Elle supplies I used on my card.

For my card, I invited ALL the Party Pals to the soirée, so first I stamped all the animals, colored them in with Copic markers and die cut them using the Party Pals Elle-ments dies.  I love all these adorable animals and couldn't decide which ones to use, so they all made the scene.

Next I prepared the background.  I blended Distress Oxide ink (Tattered Rose, Fossilized Amber) onto a panel of watercolor card stock.  I added some spritzes and spatters and die cut the stars from the Cityscapes Elle-ments set onto the inked background. I also die cut a piece of green cardstock using the Picket Fences Elle-ments die to create the grass.

Finally, I arranged all the stamped images and adhered them to the card.  I stamped "make a" above the "WISH" balloons to finish out the sentiment.

That's all for me today, but I hope that you'll think of these Party Pals to help you celebrate your next big occasion!

Loads of Wishes {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I have a card to share today featuring just one of the greetings from the Loads of Wishes stamp set.  Loads of Wishes is filled with so many sentiments for every occasion!  The set features beautiful styling and fonts that take the guess-work out of designing the perfect sentiment.

For my card, I paired Loads of Wishes with the new Hand Drawn Florals stamp set.  I stamped the floral images with Versafine ink and heat embossed them with Avery Elle's Clear Embossing powder.  I colored the images with Copic markers and arranged them on a panel of patterned paper from the Sorbet Collection patterned paper pad.

I heat embossed the "hello" sentiment with Avery Elle's white embossing powder onto a strip of black card stock and adhered it to the panel.  I attached the completed panel to a black note card and added a few clear gems as a finishing touch.

Watercolor Blog Hog!

Hello friends!  TGIF!!!

We are so excited to be hopping along with our friends at Ellen Hutson today.  We are featuring projects using our NEW Liquid Watercolors and are SO excited to show them off in action.  Avery Elle's liquid watercolors come in 10 gorgeous shades that can be used on their own or easily mixed together to create custom colors.  For an intense shade use the watercolors straight out of the bottle.  If you want lighter shades, just add various amounts of water to get the color you desire.  The possibilities are endless.  Be sure to check out all of the details of the hop as well as how to be entered to win one of TWO FULL SETS of our Avery Elle Liquid Watercolors over on the Ellen Hutson Classroom Blog.

Let's get to the hop shall we?

I used the Avery Elle Liquid Watercolors to create the under the sea background.  I sprayed the background watercolor paper with water and added drops of the liquid watercolors (Aquamarine, Sea Glass, and Mint to Be) directly to the wet paper.  I was able to swirl and blend the colors by just tilting and rotating the paper. I let the panel dry and repeated the process to create additional depth- no brushes required!

I stamped images from the Bubbles and Mermaids stamp sets onto white paper and colored them with Copic Markers.  Does this scene remind you of a famous Little Mermaid?

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. A few clear gems add a finishing touch.

That's all for me today! I hope you are inspired to make these awesome watercolors "A Part of Your World!"

You are off to Carly Tee Minner next.

World's Greatest What? {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Popping in today to share with you a funny card featuring the World's Greatest stamp set. Literally, it's the greatest! It's not every stamp set that includes a "farter" sentiment, so my inner 4th grader and I couldn't resist using it on a card.

I stamped, colored and die cut the trophy image from World's Greatest and added the sentiment (hee hee). Next, I added some little bunnies to the mix from the Party Pals stamp set.  They are the perfect size for fitting inside and next to the trophy.

I die cut the Star Frame Elle-ments from white card stock and added color with a few shades of Distress Oxide inks.  A frame cut created with the Pierced Mats Elle-ments holds everything together.

Supplies:

I hope this card made you giggle. I have the perfect "farter" I mean "father" in mind for this one!

Rainbow Banner Bits {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Just popping in to share a card featuring Avery Elle's Banner Bits stamp set. This set is filled with so many great sentiments in a great font to boot! The style of the sentiments compliments so many of Avery Elle's images, but it can stand on its own too! I pulled out a bunch that sounded like a party and put them together to create this rainbow banner birthday card.

I used Versafine Onyx Black to stamp the banners onto the different colors of card stock and embossed them with Avery Elle's clear detailed embossing powder.  I adjusted the sentiments to follow the curve of the banner and stamped them onto the banners with Versafine followed by more clear embossing powder.

I die cut the Polka Plates Elle-ments die from white card stock and attached it to a white A2 notecard.  Finally, I used foam adhesive dots to adhere all the banners to the card.

Watercolor Spring Bouquet {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Just popping in today to share a card with you featuring the gorgeous Spring Bouquet stamp set and Avery Elle's new liquid watercolors.

To make the bouquet, first I stamped the the floral images with Versafine black ink and then I heat embossed the stamped images with clear embossing powder.  I watercolored with Mimose and Lemongrass allowing the colors to dry completely before going back with additional layers of pigment.  For the darker shades at the center of the lilies and in the shaded areas of the stems and buds, I used Fizz and Celery watercolors.

The two stand alone lily images in the stamp set coordinate with two of the flowers in the bouquet, so I took the opportunity to add some dimension to the bouquet by adhering the coordinating flowers over top of the bouquet with foam tape. I tied the bouquet with some twine before adhering the bouquet to a circle cut with the Pierced Circles Elle-ments die and stamped with the "thank you" sentiment included in the set.   I adhered the circle to an A2 notecard that I matted with the new Chevron Mat Elle-ments die.  I love how the circle gives the mat a whole different look!
