All the Pretty Ponies {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am over at the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today sharing a round up of inspiration featuring all the pretty ponies. When I was younger, the animal, I loved most of all was a horse.  Although I routinely begged my parents for a horse, it wasn't meant to be.  Now that I am grown up, the Magical stamp set is just perfect for indulging all my pony dreams.

I used the stamp set to create a pretty pink birthday card for all the pony lovers. I stamped the flowers from the Magical stamp set in the opposite corners using Pretty Peony chalk ink. Next, I heat embossed the horse and sentiment with white embossing powder.

I stamped the wing on vellum, heat embossed it and die cut it using the coordinating Magical die.  Using a glue pen, I added some glue along the bottom edge of the wing and attached it to the horse. I love the way the vellum wing looks on the horse- so delicate and ethereal.  I attached the finished panel to a light gray card stock note card.

I would love for you to stop by the Waffle Flower blog for even more inspiration!

Holiday Card Inspiration {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Happy Friday!  I don't know about you, but I am so thrilled that the weekend has arrived.  Holiday weekends are wonderful, but on the flip side, it always seems that we try to cram 5 days of crazy into the remaining 4 days.

I am also thrilled to be up on the Avery Elle blog today with a pair of Holiday cards.  My first card uses the Beautiful Bows stamp set.  With it, I created a completely flat card- perfect for sending through the mail.

I cut a wonky panel from white card stock and stamped the ribbons with Cherry Pigment Ink.  I stamped the ribbon with the bow first, masked the bow and stamped the vertical ribbon.  The other ribbon stamp (sans bow) did not quite extend the length of the panel, so I used the masked bow as a meeting place.  The bow covers where the seam would hit, so I didn't have to worry about lining it up perfectly.   I left the bow mask in place when I stamped the tag and sentiment.   I adhered the stamped panel to a notecard from the Lucky Collection.

My next card used the Snow Globe stamp set and coordinating Elle-ment dies.  I built a little snow globe scene using the stamps and die cuts, assembled it and adhered it to a notecard that I covered with a piece of patterned paper from the Jewel Collection Paper Pad.  I wrapped a bit of baker's twine around the base of the snow globe and stamped the sentiment onto a banner from the Build A Banner stamp set.  I used the coordinating banner Elle-ment dies to cut out the banner.  I don't normally think of traffic signal colors as holiday colors, but I thought this color combination looked festive and fun.

That's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle team!

Waffle Flower Crafts Release- Day 3

Hello friends,

Welcome to the third and final day of the Waffle Flower Crafts release. Today, Nina is introducing the Tribal Bear Stamp set, the coordinating Tribal Bear die and the Tribal Pattern die.

Using the Tribal Pattern die, I created a pair of cards with very different looks just by switching up the color scheme.  My first card uses the Tribal Pattern die in shades of cream, red, turquoise and brown.  I die cut the pattern and backed it with strips of card stock. The feathers are from the Tribal Bear stamp set.  I cut them with the coordinating dies before adhering them to my card and wrapping the card with a bit of twine for a rustic touch.

Using the very same die, I made this second card with soft shades of gray, aqua, and lilac. I also incorporated some black for added contrast.  The sentiment was created using the Papercut Alpha Die

Waffle Flower Release- Day 2

Hello friends,

Release week at Waffle Flower Crafts continues, and today I have a few projects to share with you using the Good Stuff stamp set and coordinating die and the Magical stamp set.

First up, Good Stuff.  This is my favorite jar set ever, and coming from a girl who has owned more than her fair share of jar stamps, that is really saying something!  I just love the sweet simplicity of this jar.  It makes for cute cards and super cute tags.  Picture these sweet die cuts tied to a jar filled with sweet treats for Valentine's Day.

 If it's too early for Valentine's Day cards and tags, here's another take more appropriate for the upcoming harvest season.

Next is the Magical stamp set.  I know this set will see a lot of action because the only thing that girls like my daughters and their friends like better than horses are Unicorns and Pegasus's.

To make the unicorn even more magical, I added some color to the horse's mane and tail using Distress Ink.

Be sure to stop by the Waffle Flower Blog for even more ideas and inspiration using the Good Stuff and Magical stamp sets.  All the products previewed this week will be available for purchase in the Waffle Flower shop on Thursday, September 10th.

Waffle Flower Release- Day 1

Good morning friends,

It's release week at Waffle Flower Crafts.  Over the next three days, we are introducing 7 new stamp sets and 9 die sets.  All the stamps and dies previewed this week will be available for purchase on Thursday, September 10th.

Today, I wanted to share a simple card I made using a sentiment from the new Stocking stamp set and the Pavilio Lace Tape Pack.

I made a note card from purple card stock and trimmed a white panel to 4 x 5.25".  I rounded the corners and adhered strips of tape to the panel.  I stamped the sentiment with black ink and taped the panel to the note card base.

I will be back tomorrow with more projects and previews.  In the meantime, be sure to stop by the Waffle Flower blog for more sneak peeks and previews.

Avery Elle Fall Release Blog Hop!

Good morning friends!

It's Avery Elle Release Day, and I am so excited to share with you a few cards that I made featuring the Fa La La stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments dies

First up, a rustic holiday card with lots of dimension and texture.  Starting with a kraft note card from the Natural Collection, I wrapped the notecard with some twine and secured it with a strip of washi tape that would be hidden by the scalloped banner layer.

Next, I stamped the wreath using Celery pigment ink and the berries using Cherry pigment ink onto a piece of Rustic card stock that I had die-cut using the Scalloped Banner die set. I adhered the stamped banner to the notecard using foam tape.  I stamped the Merry Christmas banner onto rustic cream card stock using Cherry ink and die cut it using the coordinating Fa La La dies

I stamped the sentiment onto an American Crafts chalkboard label with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I found the chalkboard labels at TJ Maxx a few months ago and couldn't resist picking them up.  They are also available online here.  I layered the banner with the label and adhered it to the card with foam tape.

I have another take on this stamp set with a card that is perfectly flat and great for mailing.

I heat embossed the wreath and the sentiment onto black card stock with white embossing powder.  I allowed the embossing to cool down and then I sponged some Avery Elle white pigment ink onto the card stock to give it a bit of a chalkboard look.

I adhered the stamped panel to a notecard from the Midnight collection.

Funny story: Sophie came into my craft room as I was working on this blog post, and I asked her if she thought the card looked like chalkboard and she advised "not really.  It looks more like a stormy sky."  This is the kid whose classroom has a smart board- not a chalkboard, but I just love her honesty!  LOL!

Watercolor Peonies {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Today, I am on the Avery Elle blog with a card featuring the beautifully illustrated Peonies stamp set, Peonies Elle-ments die and the Wonky stitches die

I stamped the peonies in versamark ink on watercolor paper before heat embossing the flowers and leaves with gold embossing powder.  Next, I watercolored the flowers and leaves using Distress Ink.  I also used Distress Ink to watercolor the vase.

After die-cutting the watercolored images, I adhered them to a panel cut with the Wonky Stitches Elle-ments die.  I stamped the "thanks" sentiment and added a few sequins before adhering the stamped panel to a note card from the Sugar Collection

Well, that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from Jamie and the rest of the Avery Elle Design Team!
