SPARKS Challenge: Live in Color

Hello friends!

I hope you are having a lovely start to the week.  I have been enjoying an extended long weekend with the family and it's been a busy one, but I found a couple minutes today to accomplish two things: (1) play along with this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge and (2) use Silhouette Portrait for the very first time (!).  The convergence of those two items resulted in this:

I used the Silhouette to die cut the view finder disc and matted small swatches of cardstock behind each window.  I stamped a heart from Spiffy Scooters on each colored window and added an arrow from Teen Scene to the disc.

The sentiment is from Spring Fling. Some gray and white polka dot patterned paper and a bit of black and white twine finished off the card.

Uber Cool

Hi friends, 

Just popping in today to share a card I made this weekend using some really awesome, or should I say uber cool, Paper Smooches stamps. 

I used most of the images from Little Lady to stamp the background.  I colored the images using some plain old highlighters I picked up at Target while on an errand run.  

While I was in the office supply section, I also picked up a pack of adorable neon post it notes and on a couple of pink and blue post its, I stamped sentiments from Slang Gang. I also stamped the leopard print from Little Lady onto the hot pink washi tape to create a little customized washi. The stamped panel was adhered to a card base covered with adhesive-backed cork. 

Well that's all for me today.  I do hope that you had an amazing weekend. It was so beautiful here, I don't want it to end!

Go to your Happy Place

Hello and happy Saturday!

I got a few minutes in my craft room last night to play along with this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge.  This week is a sketch challenge and here is my take on this week's sketch:

I rotated the sketch 180 degrees and instead of banners,  I used tropical drinks! The drinks and sentiments are from Get Outta Town and I die cut the water using Borders 1. I also used the bird image from Get Outta Town to create the waves.   I think that fruity drinks and a sunset view of the ocean would definitely be a happy place.

Little Tangles Challenge: Embellish It

Hi friends,

Today, the Little Tangles blog is launching a brand new challenge.  The theme this round is Embellish It, so I offer to you a card that is (clear throat) heavy on the embellishments....

I realize that this card has more rhinestones than an Elvis impersonator, but that was what made this card fun and easy to put together!  The rhinestones (made by Darice) came on adhesive back strips.  I just trimmed the strip to fit across my card and added a sentiment from the new Sparkle and Shine set. I matted the panel on some black card stock before adhering it to a white card base.

Just saying hi

Good Morning!

Over the next couple of days I thought I would share some of the other cards that I sent in for Paper Crafts Magazine's Stamping Royalty contest.

 

This card was created using Neat and Tangled's Just Hello set.  I stamped the adorable letter on lots of different colors of card stock, trimmed them out and built a background.  I added the sentiment to a die cut speech bubble and a strip of embossed navy card stock at the bottom.  The little hearts were created with a Martha Stewart punch and the finished panel was mounted on a kraft card base.

Looking back at this one, I probably could have added some red baker's twine to the card between the white and navy cardstock.  I will keep that in mind for next time!
