Coloring for Grown Ups {Waffle Flower Crafts}

or how I spent my Friday night... :)

Hello friends,

Recently, I was sent a set of Tombow markers (more on that later this week) and I decided to try my hand a some therapeutic coloring using Waffle Flower Craft's Doily Circle Die.  Coloring books for grown ups are officially a thing and all the fine details and nooks and crannies of the doily circle die provide a perfect backdrop for some coloring techniques.

First, I die cut the doily onto white card stock.  Since the doily circle die is so intricate, I typically use a metal shim to cut through all the pieces of the die.  But since I wanted the emboss the doily shape only, I ran the die through my die cut machine without the shim just enough to cut the outer shape.  I used washi tape to secure a couple of inner pieces that were cut through.

The markers come with a colorless blender pen enabling a watercolor look with no water.  I scribbled the marker pigment onto a plastic palette and used the colorless blender to pick up the color and add it to the doily.
I continued added color in ROYGBIV order to the center of the doily, but saving the outer edger red for last.  I adhered the colored doily to a green note card and added a yellow button to the center of the doily.  I die cut Congrats using the Congrats die from black card stock and adhered it to the card.

Well, that's all for me today!  I will be back a bit later this week with more Tombow Marker fun.

Until then, thanks for stopping by!

Katie
