You Make the World A Better Place {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the new Sentimental Too stamp set.  Links to my Avery Elle supplies are included at the bottom of this post.

 I was inspired by one of the sentiments included in the Sentimental Too set... the notion of making the world a better place so I pulled out an older Avery Elle stamp set called Joy to the World and used the globe stand to create a decorative globe.

I decorated the globe with flowers and leaves from the Fabulous Florals stamp set before stamping you on a diagonal across the globe.  I adhered the globe to the stand with some foam tape.

The background was created by die cutting coral card stock with the Horizontal Stripes Elle-ments die and adhering it to a lighter coral note card. A few clear droplets add a finishing touch.

Best Dad {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today sharing a card I made using the new Mom and Dad stamp set and the Diagonal Stripes Elle-ments die.  Product links are below.

I love this stamp set because while it's perfect for Mother's Day and Father's Day, the sentiments aren't limited to those holidays.  You can pull out this stamp set any time you want to show some parental appreciation.  The girls gave Jason this card for Father's Day (because timing), but it would also make a great card just because.

To make the card, I die cut the Diagonal Stripes Elle-ments die from navy card stock and backed it with a lighter shade of blue.  I added a white rectangle of card stock as the background for my sentiment.  The Mom and Dad stamp set also features a coordinating die and I used that die set to cut out "dad" and the banner shape.  Looking back, I could have added some yellow stars or other embellishments to jazz it up and bit.  Luckily, my recipient prefers simple, so I'm off the hook!

Beside the Sea {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

This is my second post of the day.  If you came here in search of the CardMaker Magazine and Prickley Pear blog hop, just scroll down. :)

I am popping in today to share a sweet summertime card featuring Avery Elle's Beside the Sea stamp set and dies.  A list of the Avery Elle stamps and dies used on my project is included below.

I built a little beach scene using the darling beach huts as the focal point.  I colored them in with sorbet tones of Copic markers.  The yellow sky and coral note card really compliment the summer vibe of the card.

CardMaker Magazine + Prickley Pear Blog Hop!

Hello friends,

I am so excited to be participating today in a blog hop with the Cardmaker Magazine blog team featuring Prickley Pear stamps.  You should have arrived here today from the Cardmaker Magazine blog.

For my card, I stamped and cut out the lovely Petunia stamp three times and arranged them in a cluster.  I stamped the sentiment, Let Your Faith Be Bigger, onto a panel of white card stock that I trimmed at an angle before adhering it to a black note card.

I adhered the floral cluster to the note card with foam tape and affixed a few clear droplets onto the card as a finishing touch.

Giveaway!

You can't have a hop without prizes, and Prickley Pear is hosting a giveaway on their blog of a $20 gift certificate to their online store. Visit their blog for all the details on how to enter.

Your next stop is the amazing Heather Bolli!

Happy hopping and good luck!

Shut the Front Door {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Just popping in today to share a card that I have up on the Avery Elle design blog.  Between last week and this week, my cards have been like a mini parade of homes, and I love it!  Perhaps I missed my calling?

This week's card was inspired in part by John Mellencamp and Young House Love.  John Mellencamp because of the song- Pink Houses and Young House Love because John and Sherry are renovating a beach house and the color they selected for the exterior is Millennial Pink.  Millennial Pink was also the color of my grandparents home in Columbus, Ohio.  Grandma was a woman before her time.

Ok, I know, enough chatting, here's my Millennial Pink House card:

I paired one of my favorite saying's from Avery Elle's No Way stamp set with the Happy Home Elle-ments die to create a literal visual representation of the sentiment. To create the siding on the house, I trimmed a panel of card stock into 1/2" strips, inked the bottom edge and adhered the strips to the front of the house starting from the bottom up.  The strips did make stamping the sentiment a little trick, but I used a Misti to get the best impression I could, and then I filled in the gaps with a black pen.

The door is an interactive element too.  I placed the door die onto my house panel and ran it through my big shot machine.  Because of the layers of card stock, the die didn't cut through completely, but I was able to use my scissors to cut the one side and the top of the door leaving the other side of the door intact to act as a hinge.  Behind the door I stamped "It's Your Birthday" from the No Way stamp set and the little balloon is from the Birthday Bus stamp set.  All of my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

Welcome Home Hello {Avery Elle}

Hello, hello friends,

Happy Fri-YAY!  Well, it's the start of summer around here and the kids are finally finished with school.  We've been spending lots of time outdoors, and while they are jumping on the trampoline or riding their bikes up and down the driveway, I've been scheming about the color of our house. (Sounds expensive, right?  Don't tell my hubby!)

I do love our house- it's a white two story colonial with black shutters and four pillars across the front, but my heart belongs to pale yellow houses with aqua accents.

So pretty, right?  And then there's this one:

As I dream and scheme about someday refacing our home with shades of sunny yellow and pale aqua, I can play with Avery Elle's new Welcome Home stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments die. I put together a little card with these dreamy colors that I am sharing on the Avery Elle design blog today.

I stamped and die cut the pieces of the house onto card stock.  I used plain gray card stock for the roof and the steps and white card stock for the other elements so that I could color them in with Copic markers.

I added some detail to the roof with a white gel pen and adhered all the large pieces to the yellow note card.  I stamped the sentiment and then adhered the happy mail envelope and little letter as a finishing touch.
