Celebrate {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made featuring the Mardi Gras stamp set

Caryn Davies designed this fun set and included lots of party elements like masks, sequins, streamers, and feathers, but I decided to use the bead border and stamp it repeatedly using Avery Elle's pigment ink (Strawberry, Fizz, Mimosa, Lemongrass, Aquamarine and Sugar Plum). I die cut the white card stock panel and the little flag with the Dotted Elle-ments die. I stamped "Celebrate" on the flag and adhered all the pieces to a notecard from the Midnight Collection.  I added a black button as a finishing touch.

A Latte Love {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am on the Waffle Flower blog today sharing a round up of coffee-themed items and inspiration.  My card features the darling Warm Wishes stamp set, Flower Circle Die and the Stay Focused die

This card is one of my first attempts at no line Copic coloring.  To achieve the look, I stamped the cup in Antique Linen Distress Ink and then used a few Copic markers to add color and shading (R20, R30, R32).  Since I don't have a ton of markers in that peachy-pink color family, I used W0 and W2 to add some additional depth and shading. The coffee liquid was colored using E31 and E33.

I added one of the tabs from the Stay Focused die set.  I didn't have the right shade of card stock to go inside the tab, so I just colored white paper with the R32 Copic marker and placed it inside the tab.

I hope you will stop by the Waffle Flower blog to check out some of my fun coffee finds and even more Waffle Flower inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by!

Classroom Valentines with Hogs and Kisses {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a trio of Classroom Valentines using the Hogs and Kisses stamp set and coordinating Hogs and Kisses Elle-ments dies

I die cut white card stock using the rectangle die included with the Envie Elle-ments die.  Even with the red card stock mat, the note cards fit perfectly inside the envelopes.  I stamped and die cut the animals, colored the images with Copic markers and stamped a sentiment inside each.  I adhered the images to the notecards and added the hearts and grass.  I am thinking that these cards will be perfect for Sophie's Class Valentines this year.

That's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the AE team!

All I Want for Christmas is You {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am popping in today to share a cute Christmas card I made for my sweetie with a bit of help from Willy and Faye along with the Stocking stamp set.

I started with a green note card and stamped some of the accessories from the Stocking stamp set onto the note card with green ink.  To keep it extra simple, I arrange the stamps on a large acrylic block, inked it up and stamped it a few times.  Next I stamped and masked the darling monkeys from the Willy stamp set and the Faye stamp set.  I colored the monkeys with Copic markers and added a few Santa accessories to Willy using the Stocking stamp set and Stocking die.

I die cut a circle around the monkeys using the Flower Circles die set and layered it with the Stay Focused die.  I stamped the sentiment from the Stocking stamp set onto a strip of red card stock and added the "you" below the monkey couple. A few wooden stars add a finishing touch.

I think these monkeys are just the cutest and my hubby will be surprised to get a special card just for him on Christmas morning.

Well that's all for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Dashing through the Snow {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to those celebrating this holiday and taking some extended time off. I have a card today on the Avery Elle blog today using the Dashing stamp set.

I stamped the car and tree onto Copic-friendly paper, colored this images with markers and trimmed it out. I created a little scene for the car using the Wonky Stitches die and Custom Panels die.  I stamped the sentiment and added a few snowflakes using the accents from the Pocket tag dies

Well that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration. If you are among those dashing around this weekend, in the snow, or otherwise, I hope your travels are safe!

25 Days of Christmas Tags with Waffle Flower Crafts!

Good morning!

Welcome to the 25 Days of Christmas Tags with Tracey McNeely!  This is such a fun event and it's now in its 5th year!  Every day this month (through the 25th at least) you will find inspiration on Tracey's blog from lots of your favorite stamp companies!  Tracey's blog can be found here:  In My Creative Opinion.

Today, I'm sharing a few tags as part of the Waffle Flower Crafts day for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags using the Good Stuff stamp set and coordinating Good Stuff dies.

I just LOVE this little jars and decided to fill them with all kinds of holiday goodness- including some images and sentiments borrowed from the Holiday Labels- Merry stamp set

Once the jars were stamped, I colored the lids with Copic markers and wrapped each jar with red and white baker's twine. I punched a hole at the top of each tag and added a loop of twine.

Well that's all for me today, but be sure to check out even more tag-spiration from the Waffle Flower team today!

Snow Globe Shaker Tag {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I stamped and die cut the snow globe and created the night sky by sponging Sapphire ink onto the white card stock added the sleigh and sentiment from the Naughty or Nice stamp set. Once the layers were complete, I added some white microbeads as the shaker element.

Well that's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle design team!

Holiday Planning {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but I am super excited about the upcoming holiday season.  I have grand creative plans and I am sharing several photos of my holiday inspiration on the Waffle Flower blog today.

To keep my holiday list in check, I used the Magical stamp set and the Stay Focused Die to transform a simple $1.00 notebook into a Holiday Planner.  First I measured the notebook cover and trimmed a piece of card stock to the width of the cover.  I added a score line to accommodate the fold line on the front cover. I stamped the sentiment and images in basic black ink and adhered it to the notebook.

I die cut the tabs from the Stay Focused die multiple times from red and green card stock.  I assembled the tabs and adhered them to the notebook pages to create sections in the planner.  I am using one section for GIFTS, the second is DECOR, third is MENU/FOOD, fourth is CARDS, and fifth is SOCIAL. With my cute planner complete- I can't wait to get started with some more holiday plans!

Happy planning and thanks for stopping by!

Warm Holiday Wishes {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Penguin Greetings stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments dies.  Links to all the Avery Elle supplies I used for my card are below.

I die cut a piece of watercolor paper with the Wonky Stitches Elle-ments die and created the background by sponging on three shades of distress ink: Chipped Saphire, Wilted Violet, and Victorian Velvet.  I sprayed water onto the background to create the look of spattered ink.

Next I stamped and die cut the penguin family.  I colored them with Copic markers and adhered them to a snowbank created using the Dotted Borders Elle-ments dies.  I placed one of the little penguins coasting down the hill because there is always one in every family who won't sit still and pose nicely. ;)  I stamped the sentiment in black ink and adhered the finished panel to a notecard from the Royal Collection.

Well that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle team.

Christmas Countdown Calendar {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

In my house, the kids look forward to the Christmas Countdown almost as much as the big day itself. Sometimes I think the anticipation is almost more exciting than the main event.

To help us keep track of the number of days until Christmas, I created this simple Christmas Countdown Calendar using Waffle Flower's Calendar Number stamp set.

I found a set of wooden calendar blocks in the Holiday section at Hobby Lobby, but these would be pretty simple to DIY- each block is 2" cubed and the base is 2" x 4" x 2".  Here's a link to a similar version from Consumer Crafts.

For the calendar blocks, I cut white card stock into 1.75" squares. On the first block I stamped have the number 0 on the bottom and the number 5 on the top of the block.  The sides were stamped with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4.  For the second block, stamp 0 again on the bottom and the number 8 on top of the block.  Stamp the sides with the numbers 1, 2, 6, 7.  Number 6 doubles as number 9.

I covered the calendar base with some simple red and green card stock and stamped the sentiment from the Stocking stamp set to a rectangle of white card stock before adhering it to the base.  I used a basic tape runner to adhere the paper to the wooden blocks, but a coat or two of mod podge would definitely make the project more durable for little fingers and holidays to come.   I have plenty of time before Thanksgiving to take that finishing step- I am thinking that will be when our Christmas Countdown will officially begin!

Christmas Florals {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Christmas Florals stamp set. This is such a beautiful stamp set and I just love the script sentiments included.

I decided to create a card with a less-traditional holiday color scheme.   You can find links to all the supplies I used below.

First, I die cut a Scalloped Frame onto a note card from the Natural Collection.  Next, I stamped the florals using Avery Elle's pigment inks and die cut them using the coordinating Christmas Florals Elle-ments dies. I stamped the sentiment in black ink and arranged and adhered the florals at the bottom of the scalloped frame.

Well that's all for me today, but please be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle design team.

Hello friends,

It's time for another Throwback Thursday on the Avery Elle blog.  This time we are featuring a set chock full of sentiments for all the loves in your life, the Lots of Love stamp set

I paired Lots of Love with the Burst Elle-ments dies to create a Valentine target.  I stamped the sentiment in black and added one of the little hearts included in the set to the center of the target.  I added an arrow from the Aim High stamp set and die cut the dotted border using the Pierced Rectangles Elle-ments dies.

Well that's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration plus a chance to win this "love"ly stamp set.

Oh What Fun! {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am up on the Avery Elle blog today with a fun card featuring the Snow Much Fun stamp set, Snow Much Fun Elle-ments dies and the Snow Caps Elle-ments dies.

How do cute critters have Snow Much Fun?  They have a big snowball fight, of course!!! To create this scene, I cut a piece of teal/green polka dot patterned paper from my stash to use as the background.  The patterned paper was trimmed to a bit smaller than an A2 card front so that a nice border would show.  Next I die cut the trees and snow drifts using the Snow Caps Elle-ments dies.

I stamped and die cut the critters from the Snow Much Fun stamp set using the coordinating Elle-ments dies and colored them in with Copic Markers.  I stamped the sentiment on one of the snow drifts and started adhering the die cut pieces to the patterned paper.  To give the card a bit of dimension, the front snow drift was adhered to the panel using foam tape.  Once the scenery and animals were in place, I glued a few white mini pom-poms to the scene.  I thought they could serve as snowballs!  The completed panel was finally attached to a notecard from the Sugar Collection.

I would love for you to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle team.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Pretty Presents {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am over on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today with some inspiration for festive gift wrap.  Since my Holiday shopping is not finished (or started for that matter!), I decided to get my present wrapping fix using the Little Gifts stamp set.

I stamped some of the Little Gifts onto card stock and trimmed them out with scissors. I wrapped a couple of the gifts with embroidery floss, card stock and topped them with the Tiny Twine Bow die
I stamped the sentiment and candy cane from the Stocking stamp set onto the panel.

As a finishing touch, I added a thin strip of washi tape and a couple of die cuts using the Tiny Star Die and the scissors which are included in the Mini Trifold Notes Die set.

I would love for you to stop by the Waffle Flower blog today to check out the inspiration for my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CASEing Kelly Blog Hop!

Good morning friends,

Today I am honored to be a part of a blog hop celebrating the one year anniversary of Kelly Latevola's CASEing Genius series.  I am actually lucky enough to know Kelly in "real life" as she loves winter too and lives in beautiful Northeast Ohio.  (Kidding about the loves winter part, obvi..) In case you were wondering, she is just as funny, engaging, and authentic in person as she is on her blog.  Plus the girl is legit crazy talented.

Anyway, for reasons still unknown, Kelly decided to feature me on CASEing Genius last November, so today, I along with the other CASEing targets over the past year say thanks by turning the tables and CASEing the lovely and talented Kelly!   You should have arrived here from Kathy Wade's blog. If not, the entire hop order is listed at the end of this post.

So I have been stalking Kelly's blog of late to pick out three awesome cards to use as a starting point for my card.

First up is this snowy scene that Kelly designed using the new WPlus9 release.  I LOVE the polar bear and can you believe that this amazing card started life as just a humble piece of card stock?  She added ink in one form or another and voila! That Kelly is MAGIC!

Second, I thought this card that Kelly designed for Marker Pop using the Lawn Fawn Boo-yah stamp set is too cute.  I love the layout and the bright green that Kelly features in lots of her cards.

Another Marker Pop/Lawn Fawn creation for the third card- this one features alpacas and aqua.  I loved the scalloped edge on the inside of the circle.  It's such a fun take on a classic combination.

My card

I combined elements from all three cards to create the card below.  From the first card, I decided to feature a Polar Bear.  This cutie is from Avery Elle's Polar Pals stamp set.  I worked in some bright green from the second card using Avery Elle's Christmas Florals stamp set.  Last, the layout was and background color was inspired by the third card.  I didn't have any dies that put the scalloped edge on the inside of the circle, so my scallops are on the outside.  Oh and my circle is an oval.  Die set is also from Avery Elle- it's called Sweet Scallops

To make the card, I die cut the oval from the Sweet Scallops die set from aqua card stock and glued the oval frame to the outer edge of the oval. I kept the oval negative and stamped a frame using the Christmas Florals stamp set.  Kelly has an eye for details, so I tried to mimic that by adding the tiny berries and die cut stars.  Finally, I stamped and die cut the polar bear and adhered him to the center of the oval. I attached the aqua frame to a card base using foam tape and dropped the oval into the opening securing it to the card base with some adhesive.

What is a blog hop without some fun prizes?! Leave a comment by 11:59 pm EDT on Thursday, October 29th along each stop in the hop to increase your chances of winning a prize from one of our sponsors: a2z Scrapbooking, Altenew, Create a Smile Stamps, Dee's Artsy Impressions, djkardkreations, Hero Arts, Ink Road, Lia Stampz and Simon Says Stamp,! Happy Mail {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends!

I am just popping in today to share a card I made with one of Waffle Flower Crafts newest stamps sets, Happy Mail.  I just love this sweet stamp set because let's face it, we could all use some happy mail!

For this simple and cheerful card, I stamped the envelopes in bright jewel tones, trimmed them out and adhered them to a panel of white card stock.

I stamped the winky smile on the coral envelope and added the sentiment and hearts with black ink and the completed panel was adhered to a yellow card base.

This card came together so quickly and easily that it would be a cinch to whip up a few and send some Happy Mail to your friends and loved ones any time!

You Warm My Heart {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am up on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made using the adorable Polar Pals stamp set and Polar Pals Elle-ments dies

I tried a new technique with this background- salted watercolors! I started with a panel of Distress Watercolor paper and used Distress Ink to paint a watercolor background.  The ink colors I used were Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon.   While the watercolor was still wet, I sprinkled the panel with salt.  When the paint dried, I brushed off the salt.  I love how the salt crystals created a snow-like swirl against the blues.

I stamped and die cut the cute Polar Bears, adhered them to the panel.  I stamped the sentiment and added a little enamel heart as a finishing touch.  I attached the finished panel to a Fog card base from the Midnight note card collection

Well, that's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Design Team.

Fang-tastic Monster Card {Avery Elle}

Hello friend,

Happy Friday!  I am over on the Avery Elle blog today with a simple card featuring the Monsters stamp set.   This set was illustrated by Heather Campbell and featured the cutest monsters around.  I love that Heather included sentiments that work for a variety of occasions- birthday, encouragement, and of course, Halloween!

I did a little simple masking with the monsters in the bottom right corner of the card and stamped the winged monster flying above them in the opposite corner.  Next, I colored the monsters using Copic markers adding a bit of shading with a cool gray Copic to "ground" the green and orange monsters.

I stamped the sentiment in black and adhered a few black enamel dots just for fun.  The completed panel was adhered to a notecard from the Citrus Collection A2 Notecard set.

Well, that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Design Team!

Gummy Bear Birthday Card {Avery Elle}

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday!  I am up on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made using the Pick N Mix stamp set.  Pick N Mix was designed by my teamie, Caryn Davies and features so many sweet candies and images, you just might walk away with a toothache!

For my card, I stamped the gummy bear image in black ink, colored the bears with Copic markers, and added a bit of gloss with clear embossing powder.  To do this, I colored the bears with a VersaMark marker, added the embossing powder, dusted off the extra and melted the clear powder with my heat gun.  I stamped the sentiment on the panel and adhered it to a card base that I covered with patterned paper from The Brights Collection.

My older daughter, Paige, is a bit of a gummy bear addict. Her passion for these fruity bears is somewhat restricted now due to orthodontic work.  She declared that this is her favorite card and stamp set yet!  All the sweetness of candy and none of the cavities!

Well that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle team!

A Wreath that Pops {Avery Elle}

Hi friends!

Happy Friday!  I am up on the Avery Elle blog today with a card featuring the Pop Up Wreath Elle-ments die.

I die cut the wreath onto white card stock and stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Florals stamp set.  I folded up the leaves and outlined the edges in Stickles.  After waiting for the stickles to dry, I added a few enamel dots and the bow (included in the set) was die cut onto pink card stock and adhered to the top of the wreath.  I attached the completed panel onto a note card from the Caribbean Collection

Well that's it for me today. Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from my talent teamies.

Throwback Thursday- Seasonal Sentiments {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

It's been a while since I had an opportunity to participate in Avery Elle's Throwback Thursday feature, but when Jamie announced that we would be showcasing Seasonal Sentiments, I knew I had to find time to play along.

The Seasonal Sentiments stamp set features images and sentiments for FIVE Autumn/Winter holidays.  With one set, you are covered from Halloween through the New Year.

I just love this little Thanksgiving acorn image, so I paired him up with the Christmas Florals stamp set and Sweet Scallops Elle-ments die to create this autumn card.

Staring with a note card from the Citrus Collection, I die cute the scalloped oval and the pierced oval from card stock, stamped the acorn and adhered the ovals to the card.  Next, I stamped some of the foliage and flowers from the Christmas Florals stamp set, die cut them with the coordinating Elle-ments dies and arranged them around the bottom of the acorn.  I love that the Christmas florals take on an autumn hue using Avery Elle's pigment ink in Papaya, Mustard Seed, Jungle and Truffle.

Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration using this amazing set and for a chance to win a Seasonal Sentiments stamp set all of your own!

That's how we roll {Stamptember}

Hello friends,

I am so excited today to be sharing with you Waffle Flower Craft's contribution to Simon Says Stamp's month-long Stamptember celebration.  Everyone, meet How We Roll!  This set is super cute and fun, and I have two simple card ideas to share with you today.

First up, a sweet thank you card in yummy shades of butter yellow and peachy coral.  I did some simple masking on the card to layer the images, but a coordinating die is also available.  For all the two-step stamping fans, the set includes several candy filler patterns like these darling polka dots.  I love how Nina designed the filler stamp allowing for space around the stamp and the outline- it's so whimsical and sends pressure and precision packing, making room for stamping fun!

With Halloween around the corner, I decided to make another card in spooky shades of purples, yellow, and orange.  I also added the cutie face to a few of the solid candies.  I stamped the sentiment in black and added a couple black enamel dots for a little added embellishment.

Be sure to stop by the Simon Says Stamp blog for even more inspiration and ideas using the How We Roll stamp set.

The Stockings Were Hung... {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Happy Friday!  Today, I am sharing a card on the Avery Elle blog featuring the Stocking stamp set and Sweet Scallops Elle-ments dies.

I die cut a scalloped rectangle from while card stock and stamped the stockings.  To create the garland of stockings, I wiped the ink off the bows and stamped the stockings repeatedly.  The stars are also from the Sweet Scallops die set. I colored the stockings with Copic markers and used a Snow Marker on the cuffs of many of the stockings for a fun detail.

Magical Mason Jars {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

I am popping in today to share a card I made using Waffle Flower Crafts Good Stuff stamp set and die along with the Magical stamp set.

I love the mason jar that Nina created for the Good Stuff stamp set.  One of my favorite thing to do with mason jars in real life- especially around the holidays- is build mason jar snow globes.  I decided to build one out of paper, stamps, ink and glitter.

I stamped the jar on white card stock and stamped the trees and snowflakes.  I colored the jar lid with Copics and added glitter with Stickles. I adhered the jar to a kraft note card.  I die cut Magical using the Magical word die and stamped the remaining sentiment and swirls.  I love how this card is so simple but the jar has lots of glitter and detail.

Well that's all for me today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Oh What Fun- a gift card tag {Avery Elle}

Hello again, :)

I am popping in again today to share a fun gift tag using Avery Elle's Pocket Tag Elle-ments dies and Oh What Fun stamp set and coordinating Elle-ments dies.

I die cut the tag from red card stock and made the pocket by folding up the bottom of the tag and securing the sides with red-line tape.  The pocket is the perfect size for a gift card.  I love that!

I used the Santa stamp from Oh What Fun to decorate the front of the pocket.  Santa almost looks like he is juggling the snowflakes.  I created the snowdrift behind Santa using the Custom Panel Elle-ments dies.   I also added a little texture to the tag using a snow marker on the trim of Santa's coat.

Well, that's it for me today.  Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle design team!
