Freckled Fawn + Waffle Flower Special Blog Hop

Good morning friends,

Waffle Flower Crafts has teamed up with our friends at Freckled Fawn to bring you some awesome inspiration for Spring! Two members from each of our design teams are sharing projects today! Check out our blogs to see how they pair Waffle Flower stamps + dies with the cutest embellishments from Freckled Fawn!

I had a blast playing with some really inspiring embellishments from Freckled Fawn, and I created 5 (!) cards to share with you today.  After I selected my items, some of the products I chose sold out (because I have really awesome taste and all), so sadly, I am not able to link to them.  I do hope they still inspire,  so without further ado, let's get this party started!

My first card was all about this fun cork birthday banner.  The Zebra from the Monochrome stamp set is at a party- complete with Confetti (from the Flutter stamp set) and prezzies!   The gift resin shape is also from Freckled Fawn.

This next card features the Rainbow Stars from Freckled Fawn. On my card base I stamped the random star background pattern from the Bowtiful stamp set.  Next, I stamped and die cut a cloud using the Rain Check stamp set and Partly Cloudy die.  I stamped the stitched lines and adhered the adorable stars to the card. The stitched lines are from the Flutter stamp set and the sentiment is from the Starry Night stamp set

More Monochrome stamp set fun with the next card!  This time, the animals are piled atop one another and have something to say about it using Freckled Fawn's Speech Bubble Wood Chips. The bird is impressed, but the animals at the bottom of the pile may be thinking otherwise. ;)  The luscious ink colors are from the Summer Blend ink pad (9, 10, 12 and 14).

This card features a sun from a no longer in stock chipboard sticker set along with this Rainbow Stripe Washi Tape. The sentiment and clouds were created using the  Rain Check stamp set and Partly Cloudy die

Lastly, Mother's Day is just around the corner, so I made a card for mom with Freckled Fawn's White Square Doilies- folded into a sweet basket, the Loved stamp set and the Loved die set along with a sentiment from the Potted stamp set.

Breaking News!!! {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Good morning,

We interrupt your regularly scheduled blog reading for some Breaking News...

I am sorry to disappoint, but it's actually more of a Breaking News card.

Inspired by a sentiment included in the Rain Check Stamp Set, I used the Doily Square Die to turn a regular card into a retro television.

Here's how it came together:

Once the frames were die cut, I trimmed a square of white card stock to 2.75 x 2.75.  I stamped the cloud and lightening bolt from the Rain Check Stamp Set using inks 14 and 16 from the Summer Blend Inkpad.  Then I added the sentiment with Black Hybrid Ink.

This fun card is a sure-fire way to get your recipient's attention!

Thanks for stopping by! We now return you to your program which is already in progress. :)

For my project, I used the Pastel Pen set to color in one of the sweet teacups and saucers from the Tea Time stamp set.  I stamped and colored the images with the PK3 Bubble Gum and the NU3 Fawn markers.  I die cut the tea set using the Tea Time coordinating Elle-ments dies

I heat embossed the decorative swirl onto the tea cup and did the same for the sentiment.  The sentiment and tea cup were place on the dotted border mat from the You're Invited Elle-ments die. The card base is from The Midnight Collection notecards and the patterned paper is from the Neutral Collection Paper Pad

That's all for me today, but be sure to check out the Avery Elle blog for even more Chameleon inspiration!

Hello friends,

It's time for another Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge!  This week it's ANYTHING GOES and here's my take:

I have Teacher Appreciation on the mind because that's where my Anything went.  From a kraft card base, I used the Quote tags dies to make an easel.  I embossed the sentiment from the Uplifters stamp set onto black card stock and made a ledge from a brown card stock rectangle.  I added an apple using the School Icons dies and rolled up a scrap piece of white card stock to serve as chalk.

Ready to play?  You know the routine!   You have until 11:59 PT on Saturday, April 25 to link up your take on this week's challenge to the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog for a chance to win a $30.00 gift certificate to the Paper Smooches store.

Stacks of Thanks for Teacher Appreciation {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made featuring the This Book stamp set.  With spring break firmly established in the rear-view mirror, my thoughts have turned to end of the year activities, including Teacher Appreciation week in May.

With some simple masking I stamped stacks of books adding the owl to the center stack.  I intended to make this a colorful card, but I got a little carried away with my red Copic markers and ended up making a card that was black and white and red all over.

In keeping with my simple color theme, I colored the owl with gray markers and attached the stamped and colored panel onto a Fog note card base. The sentiment is from the Many Thanks stamp set.

Be sure to check out the Avery Elle blog today for even more awesome inspiration from my talented teamies!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Girl's Best Friend + Winner! {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,
I am on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today exploring a girl's best friend, Diamonds!  It's true that gems are no longer just for jewelry and these sparklers can add a little glam to all areas of your life.

My card was inspired by a watercolor artwork featuring gems and using the Gemstone stamp set, I wanted to share with you a quick tip as to how I achieved the look.

I gathered my supplies including Distress Ink and the stamped panel.  I stamped the gems and sentiment onto watercolor paper using hybrid black ink.   I used a water dropper to add a few drops of water to the gem and I used my finger to rub the water into the paper.  Next, I inked up the back side of the stamp and stamped it onto the paper.  The water and ink combine to make a really cool effect.  I continued with the other gems in different ink colors. You can let the ink pool and puddle at will or for a more artsy look, use a paint brush to push the ink and water further outside the lines.

Such a fun effect! Be sure to stop by the Waffle Flower blog for even more inspiration that sparkles. Before I go, I wanted to announce the winner of the Bowtiful stamp set from last week's Waffle Flower Birthday Blog Hop.  My winner was #37- Daria G!!

I do love this stamp set - so many possibilities to use it! thanks for the inspiration.

Daria, please send me a note at scrappy_diva (at) yahoo (dot) com and I will work with Waffle Flower to get your set sent out to you!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Watercolor Rose Birthday Card {Paper Smooches SPARKS}

Hello friends,

It's time for another Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge!  This week we are inspired by a beautiful photo featuring floral pom-poms and soft gray stripes and here's my take:

 I die cut the Roses Die and a pair of leaves from white card stock and roughly sketched where I was planning to place them on a panel of watercolor paper.  I removed the die cuts and added color to the panel with Distress Inks.

Once dry, I adhered the rose and leaves to the watercolor panel.  The sentiment is from Lovely Thoughts and I added a few sequins.  I attached the finished panel to a card base with foam tape, trimming it down slightly before adhering so a fun strip of washi tape would peek through.

Here's this week's inspiration photo:

Ready to play?  You know the routine!   You have until 11:59 PT on Saturday, April 18 to link up your take on this week's challenge to the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog for a chance to win a $30.00 gift certificate to the Paper Smooches store.

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today sharing a card that I made with the Get Well stamp set and coordinating Get Well Elle-ments die

I stamped the bouquet and sentiment in Versamark and embossed the imaged with gold powder.  I used the coordinating dies to partially die cut the bouquet, and I watercolored the image with Distress Inks.

I adhered a strip of patterned paper from the Sorbet Paper Collection to a Sea Glass card base from the Caribbean note card collection and attached the stamped panel to the card base with foam tape.

Introducing Gemstone and 3D Diamond Die {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

Today on the Waffle Flower Blog, Nina is introducing a few more stamp and die sets.  I wanted to share a couple cards I made with the Gemstone Stamp Set and the 3D Diamond Template Die

First up is an engagement card I made with the Gemstone stamp set, 3D Diamond Die, Congrats stamp set, and Flower Circle Die set.

I inked a portion of the gem rays with black in and stamped it onto an aqua card stock base.  I die cut the 3D Diamond die onto glitter card stock and with the help of the Flower Circle die set, I fashioned an engagement ring. The sentiment is from the Congrats stamp set

My next card features the Gemstone stamp set.

I stamped the gems with the Waffle Flower Chalk inks (2,  9, 10, 12, 13, and 14) and added the gem outlines and sentiment with black ink.  I adhered the stamped panel to a black card stock base.

All of the products previewed today will be available tomorrow morning in the Waffle Flower store

Be sure to stop by the Waffle Flower blog for even more inspiration and ideas from Nina and the team.

Introducing Congrats {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hey y'all,

I am back again today to share a card I made with another on of Waffle Flower Craft's spring release stamp sets.  This one features the Doily Circle Die that Nina previewed yesterday on the Waffle Flower Blog and the Congrats Stamp Set.

I die cut the Doily Circle Die 2x from white cardstock and adhered it to a kraft card base.  With my die cut machine, I found a metal shim helpful in ensuring that all the detailed cuts are made cleanly and punch out with ease. Since this die cut it so detailed, I attached it to my card by painting the back of the die cut with Ranger's Multi Medium Matte.

I stamped the sentiment from the Congrats stamp set in Versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder.

All of the stamp sets and dies that we are previewing this week will be available for purchase on Thursday, April 9 in the Waffle Flower store.

Well that's all for me today! Thanks for stopping by!

Humble Pie {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am over on the Avery Elle blog today sharing a card I made with the Humble Pie stamp set.  This set is so clever, and it offers up a sweet way to say I'm sorry.

I arranged all the pies and sentiments on a gridded acrylic stamp block and stamped them with black ink before coloring in the images with Copic Markers.  I wasn't sure what flavor humble pie would have, so I decided upon blueberry.  I used the Copic Colorless blender to add a few details to the Cherry and Humble pies.

After coloring the pies, I die cut the card stock with the large Finished Frames die and adhered the stamped panel to Kraft card base included in the Natural Collection A2 Notecard pack.

Well that's all for me today.  Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from my talented teamies.

Hello friends,

It's Throwback Thursday on the Avery Elle blog and this month, we are featuring the Write It stamp set.  I just love the trendy calligraphy sentiments and the fountain pen is the perfect accompanying image.

For my card, I stamped the sentiment on an angle with navy ink.

Next, I stamped the fountain pen in multiple shades of ink.  I cut the stamped panel on an angle and adhered it to the card base with foam tape.
