Avery Elle Inspiration x 3

Hello friends,

Happy Fri-yay! I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a trio of fun cards using stamps sets from Avery Elle's summer release.  All of my Avery Elle products are linked below each project.

First up is a card using The Scoop stamp set.  I envisioned a sweet shaker card in shades of pink and pistachio.  I changed the look of the truck by drawing a line to section off the bottom of the truck and adding one of the large ice cream cones as a roof ornament.

Next, a card featuring the very funny That Bites stamp set.  These fish are so awesome on their own, so I added a fish to a watercolored background panel.  I used the bubbles and waves dies included with the coordinating die set to add a little interest to the background.

Supplies:

Last is a card featuring the Ribbit Ribbit stamp set.  I created another watercolored background for these frogs and their lily pads.  The speech bubble die came from the Stoker Ellements die set.

Supplies:
New Moon Dye Ink Pad

Well, that's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for more inspiration from the Avery Elle Design Team.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sorry I'm Late {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Happy Friday!  I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a simple and sweet card featuring the I'm Late stamp set and coordinating dies.

Isn't this little guy the cutest?  I colored him with Copic markers, die cut the stamped image and adhered him to a Wonky Stitches die cut panel brushed with watercolors.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink before adhering the panel to a kraft note card and adding a twine bow. All my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

So that's it for me today!  Be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle design team!

What a Wonderful World {Serendipity Stamps}

Hello friends,

I am back again today with Serendipity Stamps.  Each month, Serendipity stamps offers monthly challenges and I am offering some more inspiration on this month's challenge- Background Stamping!  You can read more about the monthly challenge on the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog.

 Here's my take:

One of the first background stamps that caught my eye in the Serendipity Stamps shop was the Marble Cell background.  I just love the look of marbled paper and this stamp makes it super easy to get that look. I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed the design with white embossing powder.  I added a watercolor wash with my Zig Clean Color Brush markers in onbre shading of aqua to green.

Next I stamped and embossed the And I Think to Myself sentiment and added more watercolor loosely painting a globe in the background.  A nest of silver thread along with some clear sequins are my finishing touches.

Ready to play along?  Get all the details on the Serendipity Stamps blog. Just make sure that your card includes background stamping and at least one Serendipity Stamps Image.

Well, that's all for me today, but I do hope that you will join in all the fun this month!

One Hot Chick {Avery Elle}

Hello friends!

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card I made featuring the Hot Chick stamp set.  Hot Chick is one of those little stamp sets that packs a punch and it's super punny to boot.

I imagined my chick attending an exercise class, so I did some simple masking and stamped the chick several times to fill a die cut panel of white card stock.  Since the card is for ONE hot chick, I took some artistic license to only color ONE of the chicks with Copic markers. I added some sequins in place of sweat droplets because we don't sweat, we glisten- right?!! Finally I stamped the sentiment onto a banner from the Pierced Banner Layer Ellements die set.  All of my Avery Elle supplies are linked below.

Well that's all for me today, but be sure to check out the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle design team.

Waffle Flower Crafts June Challenge

Hello friends,

It's time for another Waffle Flower Craft Challenge!  This month, we are taking inspiration from this pretty floral arrangement in dreamy mason jars.

I was inspirited by the colors in the challenge photo as well as the beautiful mason jar floral arrangements, so I reached for the Good Stuff and A Bunch stamp sets.

I stamped and die cut the jar and daisies and water colored the images using my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I allowed everything to dry before adhering the flowers to the jar, adding the sentiment, and a small twine bow.  I added the stamped image to a mat that I cut with the Lacy Layers Die. A complete list of my Waffle Flower Crafts supplies is listed below.

Well that's all for me today, but I hope you will play along with this month's challenge and link your take here.   The deadline is June 25. I can't wait to see what you create!

Big Birthday Greetings {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a birthday card featuring the Big Greetings stamp set.  The sentiments in this set are so pretty and their size and scale can easily command attention all on their own.

To create the background, I sponged Distress Ink (Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers) on a panel of Distress Specialty stamping paper. Using Distress Speciality stamping paper was a new (and accidental) experience for me. I was shopping online and thought I was ordering Distress Watercolor Paper- whoops! Anyway, it was a happy accident because the paper has a special coating on it which makes blending ink a breeze. Once I added the ink, I used a baby wipe to further smooth out and blend the inks.

I let the panel dry completely and stamped "happy birthday" from the Big Greeting stamp set with Versamark and heat embossed it along with some of the stars included in the stamp set with white embossing powder. I added just a couple clear sequins for a little extra sparkle.  I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a notecard from the Citrus Collection A2 Folded Card set.

Well that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from the Avery Elle Design Team!

Leave a Little Sparkle {Serendipity Stamps}

Hello friends,

I am so excited to be guest designing this month with Serendipity Stamps.  Each month, Serendipity stamps offers monthly challenges and a new monthly challenge begins today on the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog.  This month they're looking for projects that feature a stamped background.

 Here's my take:

I fell in love with the Leave a Little Sparkle sentiment and paired it with the starburst from the Retro Starburst cling set to create my card.  To create the background, I stamped the starburst shape in Versamark and heat embossed using gold and silver embossing powders.  After a little trial and error, I decided to stamp the starbursts first in a diagonal pattern and embossed the diagonal with silver, then I stamped the remaining open space with more starburst- and embossed them with gold.

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with silver and added a tiny gem to the center of all the little stars.  I matted the sentiment with vellum and adhered the layers to the stamped background.

Ready to play along?  Get all the details on the Serendipity Stamps blog. Just make sure that your card includes background stamping and at least one Serendipity Stamps Image.
