Watercolor Peonies {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

Today, I am on the Avery Elle blog with a card featuring the beautifully illustrated Peonies stamp set, Peonies Elle-ments die and the Wonky stitches die

I stamped the peonies in versamark ink on watercolor paper before heat embossing the flowers and leaves with gold embossing powder.  Next, I watercolored the flowers and leaves using Distress Ink.  I also used Distress Ink to watercolor the vase.

After die-cutting the watercolored images, I adhered them to a panel cut with the Wonky Stitches Elle-ments die.  I stamped the "thanks" sentiment and added a few sequins before adhering the stamped panel to a note card from the Sugar Collection

Well, that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more inspiration from Jamie and the rest of the Avery Elle Design Team!

Lovely Lotus {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Good morning,

I am on the Waffle Flower Crafts blog today sharing a round up of inspiring objects inspired by the Lotus Flower. The Lotus flower is a fascinating symbol and image in many religions and cultures. Emerging from the murky depths of a pond, this exquisite plant is stunning representation of triumph over adversity.

I used the Lotus stamp set and Lotus dies to create this simple thank you card.

I stamped the flowers onto watercolor paper with Distress Ink and colored them with "no line" watercoloring. I die cut the blooms using the Lotus die and set them aside.  I positioned the dies onto a watercolor panel where I wanted the flowers to be and die cut the shapes.

I stamped the stems and sentiment and replaced the blooms, but rather than inlaying the die cuts, I adhered them with foam tape allowing some of the green note card base to peek through.

Be sure to stop by the Waffle Flower Crafts blog for even more Lotus inspiration and fun finds.

Fun with Tiger and Lily {Waffle Flower Crafts}

Hello friends,

Remember Colorforms? I LOVED Colorforms when I was a kid.  I adored creating scenes with the characters and shapes- seriously, hours of fun to be had in a simple box.  The Colorform concept inspired the project I made using the Tiger and Lily stamp set and the Tiger and Lily die.

I picked up a tin at a craft store and decorated it with some patterned paper creating a beach scene.
Next I stamped the images from the Tiger and Lily stamp set onto some thin paper designed for Copic coloring. I colored the images and die cut them.  Next I die cut the shapes onto self adhesive magnetic sheet and attached the colored image to the magnet.  All of the pieces can be stored inside the tin.

Now the fun begins.  Here, Tiger is a fierce pirate protecting his treasure.

Now Tiger is relaxing seaside. The possibilities are endless!

Well I know a little girl (or two) who will have loads of fun playing with Tiger and Lily. Just a reminder that due to small parts, this project is not suitable for kiddos under the age of 3.

Bring on the Cake! {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a sweet birthday card featuring the Bring on the Cake stamp set and coordinating Elle-ment dies

I was completely inspired by this photo of a colorful layer cake from Martha Stewart.

With that as a starting point, I colored the layers with Copic markers, before die cutting the cake slice and adhering it to a white panel.  I stamped the sentiment with black ink and added a bit of Wink of Stella in black to the thicker areas of the scripty wish.  I used the Scalloped Frames Elle-ment dies on a notecard from the Royal Collection.  I adhered the white card stock to the notecard and added a few clear sequins as a finishing touch.

Well that's all for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog for even more ideas and inspiration from the AE Design Team.

You're a Star {Avery Elle}

Hello friends,

I am on the Avery Elle blog today with a card using the Swim Team stamp set.

I die cut a piece of white card stock using the Wonky Stitches Elle-ments dies and sponged it with Linen and Sea Glass Pigment Ink. I stamped the sand line and added some sea flora using Lemongrass, Conch Shell and Sugar Plum ink.

The cutie starfish were stamped onto white card stock and colored with Copic Markers.  I adhered the die cut panel to a card base that I covered with patterned paper from The Brights Collection paper pad.  I stamped the sentiment on the stitched tag and tied it to the card with some purple and white twine.

Well that's it for me today, but be sure to stop by the Avery Elle blog to check out even more inspiration from the Avery Elle design team.
